The sound of a vase, as a subject, is not unnecessary, because it specifically shows the difference in the ability to generate eye consciousness, etc., from among the many things like the shape of the vase, and the shape and smell, etc. In this aspect of using the sound "shape of a vase" to show the difference in the ability of the shape of a vase, as a subject, the smell of sandalwood, etc., can also be said to show the difference in ability, because the smell of sandalwood can specifically distinguish it from other smells. Second, the many limbs themselves are also unsuitable as a cause, divided into two: the collection of limbs is unsuitable as a cause, and each limb is unsuitable as a cause. The first case is: if, like the two views, the many limbs of the body itself are the direct cause of the mind, then, is it all the limbs collected as a cause, or each limb individually as a cause? If it is the first case, then the mind, as a subject, should not arise even if one of the limbs of the body, such as the ear, is missing, because the collection of all the limbs of the body is your cause. The second case is divided into three: stating the inference of harm, refuting the fault against it, and refuting the similarity to oneself. The first case is: if, like the second view, then for a sentient being with a body, as a subject, many streams of mental substance should arise simultaneously, because each limb of the body is able to generate one mind. The second case is divided into two: one breath is unsuitable as a cause of mind, and multiple breaths are unsuitable as a cause of mind. The first case is: even if there are multiple bodies, multiple minds will not arise simultaneously, because there is only one breath, so it is certain that one mind arises from that one breath, if you think so, then breathing, as a subject, because you are unique, you cannot determine the uniqueness of the mind, because you are the same as the body and many particles. If it is thought that this is not established, because the breath and the body are constant and one, so the minds are produced in sequence, then for a sentient being with a body, as a subject, many mental substances should clearly arise simultaneously, because the cause of many mental substances, that is, the breath and the constant body with unimpeded ability, are always close. If it is thought that the breath and the constant body are not the cause of producing multiple mental substances simultaneously, but are produced in sequence, then.

Breath and body are permanent dharmas, and it should not be that they do not gradually generate consciousness, because there is no difference between that which does not generate consciousness before and the permanent dharma. Furthermore, even if it is allowed that breathing is one, sentient beings, it should be that breathing is definitely one, but consciousness is not definitely one, because for one thing like the outward flow of breath, there will also arise consciousness that holds multiple meanings of before and after. If it is said that it is not pervasive, because multiple meanings of before and after are known by one indivisible consciousness. Then that consciousness, it should be that at the time of holding the previous meaning, it simultaneously holds multiple meanings of before and after, because there is no contradiction in simultaneously holding multiple meanings of before and after at the time of holding the previous meaning. If it is not established, then that consciousness, it should not gradually hold multiple meanings of before and after, because there is no difference from not holding multiple meanings even afterwards. The second part is divided into two points: refuting that which is generated by multiple gradual generation, refuting that which is generated by multiple simultaneous generation. The first point is: because breath is not of its own kind, therefore, many moments of breath with prior and later order are born from the permanent body. If it is thought that such a mind is the cause of sequential thoughts, then how can these breaths arise in a prior and later order? It should not arise, because there is no cause for arising with the previous order. If it is said that it is not established, because the previous of its own kind is the cause. Then sentient beings, it should be that the first breath of this life will not arise, because before the breath of this life there is no such similar kind of breath as the cause of that breath. If it is not established, then there will be a previous life. Even if there is a previous similar breath, the breath, it should definitely be multiple, because it arises from multiple places of different sources. If it is admitted, then for one person, it should be that multiple entities of consciousness arise simultaneously, because there are multiple breaths existing simultaneously. The second point is: if it is said that even if there are multiple breaths, but those breaths do not each generate one consciousness, but multiple breaths are also at the same time, that is, the cause of one thought-mind of the same temporality, so multiple consciousnesses simultaneously
