Therefore. The appearances of the vase are also subjects. Although they are different in meaning, they are not different in kind in terms of elimination, because they are the same as the cause of the same kind of consciousness that directly perceives the vase. If you ask, "Is not the mere sameness of the result a common entity?" The many appearances are subjects. That sameness of your result is merely an elimination that appears to be distinct from its result, and is not a common entity, because if you had a common entity that follows those that are different from them, it should be visible, but it is not seen, and also because it prevents the establishment of a common meaning. Secondly, establishing the object of designation according to one's own school is because self-character, common entity, and possessor of commonality are not suitable to be expressed, so the designation "tree" is a subject. The exclusion of others of a tree is the meaning of knowledge, that is, it has a result, because the image of the conceptualization of grasping a tree is extremely attached to, that is the result of knowledge. The part that is reversed comes from seeing its own characteristics, and the aspect that appears to conceptualization is reversed from other aspects. That which has become the exclusion of others is the nature of not being closely attached, but only the object of sound, because only that appears to the consciousness of sound. At that time, it is established that the expression is the object of exclusion. It is said that the sound "tree" is a subject. You do not obtain the self-character of a tree at the time of expression, because you do not truly apply the word to the self-character of a tree, but truly apply the word to the exclusion of others of a tree. If you ask this, the sound "tree" that produces the conceptual mind that grasps a tree with three distinctions is also a subject. Although the word is not truly applied to the self-character of a tree, it is believed that there is no deception in the meaning of a tree at the time of expression, because the meaning of a tree is the branch that completely abandons the non-tree that does not make a tree, that is, the nature of the cause, and the thing of a tree is indirectly dependent on being different from a non-tree. What are the three distinctions? The conceptualization of grasping a tree that agrees with the meaning is a subject. It has three distinctions, because the meaning of a tree appears in the aspect of not doing as the nature of doing the same as the meaning of a tree, and the thing of a tree is the seed of merely a thing that is different from a non-tree, that is, it has a cause, and it appears to itself as not having the meaning of a tree.

Because of that. Why is the sound "tree" a dharma, having the object of excluding other than trees, because the meaning of tree is the nature of a conceptualization that relies on acting through dependence, having the object of clinging to external objects as trees. Third, regarding this, there are four refutations of other sects' arguments: refuting the fault of mutually dependent cognitions; refuting the absence of elimination and entry when there is nothing to be eliminated; refuting the examination of the presence or absence of opposites in objects; refuting the argument that a common basis cannot be changed. The first has four: stating the fault stated by others; refuting it with reason equal to the beginning; generating certainty with the answer of objects; establishing that all sounds have definite grasping. The first is: if conceptualization does not grasp either tree or non-tree by proving anything, but only grasps by elimination, then the dharma of conceptualization is, you must necessarily grasp the other of the two, tree and non-tree, relying on each other's cognition, that is, necessarily grasping the other first. You must grasp the meaning of tree by reversing from non-tree, that is, by eliminating non-tree, and non-tree must also be determined by eliminating tree. The pervasion exists, because without grasping tree and non-tree, one cannot eliminate them. If you accept, then the dharma of conceptualization is, if there is no prior mutual grasping of tree and non-tree, then it follows that both tree and non-tree will not be grasped. Because there is the fault of mutually dependent cognition of tree and non-tree, therefore it is impossible to impose a sound name on the elimination of eliminating non-tree, but only on the common object, the name should be imposed in the manner of establishing, as some such as Young Woman Taking say. The second is, regarding imposing a name by eliminating others, establishing the fault of mutually dependent cognition, according to those people's view, when imposing the name of tree, do they distinguish non-tree or not? If they say they distinguish, then the person who imposes the name of tree, the dharma is, how does he know non-tree at the time of imposing the name of tree, it follows that he does not know. Because at the time of imposing the name of tree, if there is no grasping of the meaning of tree, that is, because there is not. The pervasion is accepted. The reason is, because now one should know that tree, for the sake of the name of tree, one seeks tree, and for the sake of establishing. If you accept, then that dharma is, from the name of tree, those non-trees do not eliminate the meaning of what is said, it follows that there is a fault. At the time of imposing the name of tree,
