Distinctions have been made, and distinctions have been made from the actual objects of sound, which are the images of conceptualization, in three ways. If we consider the first case, it is to supplement "manifestation and arising and ceasing occur simultaneously." If we consider the second case, it is the first two verses. If we consider the third case, it is the latter two verses, that is, the general consciousness as the subject. The general characteristic that you have fabricated, when one manifestation ceases, it is impossible to refute it from the perspective of whether it exists in reality or not, because it is fabricated, so the general characteristic that you have fabricated is not true. This is said because the old man's hearsay is taken as a standard, and the meaning of the scripture is not understood. First, supplementation is also unnecessary, because the other-exclusion of the opposite pervades non-affirmation, which has already been negated in the general meaning. Third, applying the general consciousness to the fabricated general characteristic is no different from the statement "the opposite is without essence." The third example is water and fertilizer, etc., as the subject. How do you produce sprouts, so that they cannot be produced? Because the producer of that sprout is different from the essence of the seed. Answer: It is not pervasive, because it has already been said that the differences in nature, water, fertilizer, etc., are themselves the producers of sprouts. If it is said that those differences do not have different natures, and there is also a general main factor, so it is the single sprout producer, not the differences? It is not that the single nature produced that sprout, because it has already been said that it is meaningless as a co-operative factor in the production of sprouts. Therefore, seeds, etc., as the subject, are different, that is, different in nature, because they appear in non-confused consciousness, and are also the nature of each other, that is, they appear separately without relying on others. Moreover, the word "also" includes that arising and ceasing are also different. Therefore, the differences of seeds, etc., themselves exist ultimately, and the difference is a return from others, and the difference is said to be the cause of the producer and the effect of the produced, and the difference is considered to be its own definition, and the difference is also the object of pursuit for all beings who seek meaning, because if you take and abandon it, you will have results. The general main factor is not like that.

Therefore, it is not the producer of fruit. Fourth, even if there is no difference in each, all barley seeds, etc., are not the accomplisher of all rice sprouts, etc. Even if there is no difference in each, but by the nature of things, only some rice seeds, etc., become the author of some rice sprouts, etc., while barley sprouts, etc., are not its author. For example, just as in your own school of Samkhya, all things are not different in nature and without distinction, but all causes are not the accomplisher of all fruits. Fifth, if all things are not different in nature and are one, then the barley seed and the rice seed, the rice sprout, become the two parts of the author and non-author of the same one, and there is contradiction in each other, because they are the same thing. If the barley seed does not contradict the action of producing rice sprouts, because there is a temporary difference from the rice seed, then the common auxiliary cause of water and fertilizer should not produce rice sprouts, for the same reason as before. If the main thing itself gradually enters in the form of various causes, and becomes the author of gradually producing various fruits, then what is gradually produced? Is it done by the main thing, the thing itself, or by others? If it is the former, it is unreasonable, because if the constant Dharma produces fruit, it should produce it at the same time. If it is the latter, then the main thing is meaningless. Third, refuting the oneness of self-transformation: the general thing with that difference should become many differences, because it is one with many meanings. Also, many differences should become one without difference, because it is one with one general meaning. Or, it is to guide the latter, that is, the names of general and difference, should become mutually different in nature, because they are the nature of both similarity and dissimilarity. If the two of general and difference are also the nature of ability and manifestation in order, so they become difference, then the two of general and difference should become the difference of nature itself, manifest
