One's Own System Explained. One's Own System Explained. Secondly, in the Brahmin's commentary, apart from applying the four verses as an extensive explanation of fallacious reasoning, it is not clear in other self-commentaries, etc. However, if it is in accordance with the Pramāṇaviniścaya, it appears as follows: In the chapter on benefiting others, the first verse arises from the determination of number. In the chapter on benefiting oneself, the latter two verses are spoken at the beginning of establishing the connection. Although the second verse is not apparent in the Pramāṇaviniścaya, it is clear that it arises from "depending on one collection of this treatise," and so on. The extensive explanation of fallacious reasoning must also be determined as its "semblance," so the extensive explanation has four meanings: The three correct ones are extensively explained; the numerical determination of the three is extensively explained; without which it does not arise is extensively explained; fallacious reasoning is extensively explained. The three correct ones are extensively explained. The first has three: The result is the indicator of the cause; the nature is the indicator of the essence; from non-apprehension, establishing negation. The first is: If all the phenomena of the nature of fire, such as clear burning, etc., become indicators of smoke, then the nature of fire, that is, any result that becomes a general phenomenon, such as smoke, etc., without which it does not arise, is the subject. On some basis, it may be possible to establish the existence of causal fire as a valid reason, because if it is established in this way, the three aspects can be complete. It is not an indicator of a special phenomenon that is not its own opposite, such as clear burning, because one would be confused by it. The second is: That which has become the essence of the phenomenon to be established, such as being made, is also the subject. On sound, to establish that which merely has its own nature and a phenomenon related as its own characteristic, such as impermanence, is a correct reason, because if it is established in this way, the three aspects are complete. The third has two: It is able to prevent the definite existence of the potential object; it is able to establish the definite non-existence of the apparent possibility. The first is: For potential objects such as a pot of meat, treatises and other valid cognitions do not apply, that is the subject. On some basis, it does not exist, that is, on that potential object, it is the result of indicating that the term "definite existence" does not apply, because on the basis, to establish that it is not a definite existence, the three aspects are complete. The plural word "valid cognitions" is used because it is not related to the context of the treatise.
