And. This refers to the case of including all three valid cognitions. The second has three aspects: essence, classification, and refutation. The first point is: Do all unobserved signs merely have the consequence of preventing definite existence? If asked, then, relative to the specific case of reasoning, i.e., the visible unobserved, for example, the visible pot unobserved, as the subject, it has a consequence of a knowledge and a corresponding expression that definitely does not exist some visible object to be negated on some basis, because on some basis, it completely possesses the three modes of establishing the non-existence of a visible pot. The second point is: The non-observation reasoning that has the meaning and term of non-existence, as the subject, has four types: the contradictory nature is established, the contradictory results are established, the nature that can exist as a cause is not established, and the nature that can exist as an essence is not established. The first example is like fire preventing cold touch; the second example is like smoke preventing cold touch; the third example is like the absence of fire preventing smoke; the fourth example is like the unobserved visible pot preventing the visible pot. Since the observation of contradictory nature and the non-observation of nature have been shown as a way of understanding, it should also be understood that, like fire preventing the touch of hair, the observation of the contradictory pervasiveness, and like preventing wood and then preventing meat, the non-observation of pervasiveness, are also understood as a way of understanding. The third point is: If the result of fire can prevent cold touch, then, if the cause of fire is taken as a sign, can it also prevent cold touch in the same way? If asked, then, if the actual cause of fire is taken as a sign, the property of the subject cannot be determined, and if only the cause is taken as a sign, then the cause of fire that contradicts the cold touch, i.e., the observation of firewood, the argument presented as a sign, as the subject, is one that has an error of pervasiveness, because any argument that uses the cause of fire, firewood, to prevent cold touch, if the cause of fire, firewood, is not contradictory to the cold touch itself, it is because it does not exist. This shows that if the cause is contradictory, then there is a situation where it becomes a way of understanding, for example, through the special case of causing burning, the nearby fire prevents the cold result, i.e., the erection of hair, like this, the observation of the nature that contradicts the cause, and like smoke preventing the cold result, i.e., the erection of hair, the observation of the result that contradicts the cause, both of these are shown as a way of understanding. Thus, adding to the previous six

The wise have spoken of eight here, and in the Pramāṇaviniścaya, in addition to that, because there is no smoke, like preventing the direct cause of smoke, it is not seeing the direct result, and like using fire to prevent the direct cause of cold touch, it is seeing the nature contrary to the result, totaling ten. If merely the element of fire cannot prevent cold touch, then merely the result of fire cannot prevent cold touch either, it is the same. If you say so, then the result of fire, which is contrary to cold touch, the dharma, you use a basis to prevent cold touch somewhere, and also want to rely on the fire that is the cause of yourself, that fire is close to the place and time of existence, etc., in some cases, like curved smoke. Because you may prevent cold touch somewhere, and because it differs due to place, time, etc., otherwise there will be errors in preventing cold touch. In some place it is not cold, that is, in order to prove that there is no cold touch, it is like using the opposite result, ashes, as a reason. Again, the word "again" collects the reason for the result, which is Shakya's view. The Brahmin said that not only is seeing the opposite cause not a reason, but also merely the opposite result is not a reason, there needs to be a difference. The determination of the number of three is explained in detail. The second part is divided into two parts: refuting the view that the incorrect is correct, and refuting the view that the seemingly correct is actually correct. The first part is divided into two parts: inferring the result that can be produced by the collection is self-nature, and inferring shape etc. from taste is the reason for the result. The first part is: if the correct reason is determined to be three, then how is inferring the result that can be produced by the collection of causes included in the three reasons? If the entire collection of causes of the seedling is taken as the reason, from which it is inferred that the result seedling can be produced, then the entire collection of causes of the seedling, the dharma, in some place, is the self-nature reasoning that proves that the result seedling can be produced, because that is the correct reason for the proof, because it is said that the seedling that can be produced is your self-nature, because the seedling that can be produced does not depend on causes other than your cause, but is born from your proximate cause. Then, why not infer that the collection of causes must produce the result? Merely the entire collection of causes of the seedling, as the cause of the seedling series, the dharma, you exist, for your own dharma, the result seedling must
