Sapa'o. The second part has five points: entering by eliminating signs and inferences, entering by eliminating subsequent definitive knowledge, entering by eliminating is reasonable in terms of sound, entering by establishing is unreasonable, refuting that entering by establishing is also reasonable. The first part has three points: recording the proof of entering by eliminating, if entering by establishing is too extreme, summarizing and showing the meaning of the establishment of both. The first part has three points: entering is not for seeing the self-character, entering is for eliminating superimposition, showing the verses summarizing both. The first point is: if the inference based on sound and signs enters by eliminating, then what is its proof? Because it is to eliminate the superimposition that has already been seen by direct perception, so what has already been seen by direct perception, such as the nature of impermanence of the sound object and the nature of oneness, whatever is seen by auditory direct perception is the subject. There is no need to observe the other parts not seen by direct perception with the inference, because all the dharmas that are easy to establish and have the same entity as oneself are seen simultaneously by direct perception. The second point is: then how does the inference enter after that? The direct perception of grasping sound is the subject. After you see the impermanence of sound, it is necessary to enter the inference of realizing the impermanence of sound, if not because of the appearance of other similarities, etc., the reason for the illusion of permanence, not applying other permanent qualities to the sound, then you do not need to enter the inference of realizing the impermanence of sound, but just like seeing the similarity to the white color of the form, and mistaking the shell for the shape of silver, because of the appearance of other similarities, etc., there is an illusion of permanence to the sound, so in order to eliminate it, you must enter the inference of realizing the impermanence of sound. The third point is because of that reason, the sign and inference that establish the impermanence of sound are the subject. Entering by eliminating, because by directly perceiving the object of sound, all the qualities such as impermanence are seen, so it does not enter to see it, but because of the reason of illusion, it cannot be determined that the sound is impermanent, so in order to determine it, you enter extremely. This verse is a summary verse. Two

Not only direct perception, but also from inference, if one grasps through the means of establishing the reality of sound, then the inference of understanding sound's impermanence, the subject, the qualities of sound such as being produced, all should be grasped. Because it becomes certain through establishing one quality of sound, its impermanence. If you accept that, then other valid cognitions will not be allowed to enter. If you say that it will also be like that for you, because inference enters by eliminating, it is the subject. If inference grasps one impermanence, then the fault of grasping all qualities will not be too much here, because inference enters for the sake of eliminating superimposition. Third, entering by establishing is flawed, and entering by eliminating is not flawed, therefore, as previously explained, the inference that relies on the sign is the object of elimination, and this should be strongly proclaimed. Otherwise, if it enters by establishing, the subject, like the subject of sound, the subject. After you have directly perceived it, it is impossible for the sign and inference that establish impermanence to enter, it should be established. Because after you have been directly established, what other impermanence is there besides your nature that has not been established by direct perception, because there is none. Some people apply this to newly arisen inference, which contradicts the verses collected from the self-commentary. Second, if it is thought that inference enters by eliminating superimposition, then for some who directly perceive blue without error, whatever is the knowledge that determines blue, the subject. It is not entering by eliminating, it should be established. Because there is no superimposition to be eliminated. It cannot be accepted, because whatever is a conceptualization with a common meaning, you consider that to be entering by eliminating. The knowledge that determines blue, the subject. It is the object of elimination, because as long as its function has not diminished, a person with self-continuity is a definitive consciousness that is capable of only that much, without superimposing other parts besides his own way of determining. The sign is established, because this knowledge that determines blue, the subject. It is known to enter an object that is devoid of superimposing other parts besides its own way of determining, because on one object, you and the two minds of superimposition are the nature of harming and being harmed. Third, the determination of the object of what is made and impermanent on sound, and sound is also the subject. That of yours
