If there is no horse in a certain place, then is there no livestock either? Why is it said that unrelated livestock does not return? Just as there is no return, a characteristic of the dharma, a proximity of a characteristic, because it exists, then how can other dharmas be proximity or existence? It will not become proximity or existence, because there is no connection with the dharma. If some people have livestock, then do they also have horses? Why is it said that it will not exist? The third part has three points: even if there is no dissimilar example, it can be understood through reasoning; for those who do not understand the example, the reasoning should be shown; for those who understand the reasoning, the two ways of stating the establishment words should be explained. The first point is: Like this, through the power of the nature relationship, the following and returning are established, therefore, in order to make the thesis of the argument understandable, the nature relationship has no other possibilities than the identity of the self and the arising from it. These two are also shown through examples, showing the following in similar examples, and showing the return in dissimilar examples. So, in order to show the return, is it necessary to have a dissimilar example established in things? The explanation says that in order to establish the return, for these two established signs, the dharma, the establishment of the return, in the dissimilar example, it is not desired to be established on the basis of things, even if there is no dissimilar example established in things, the return can be understood by saying that this sign does not exist in the dissimilar side. In the past, most of the time, even if the dissimilar example does not exist in things, it can be understood by saying that there are no those dharmas, this explanation enhances the power of the word "also". Between this and the following verse, there is no connection other than the word "like this" in the self-explanation, so the meaning of the above-mentioned absence, which needs to be shown by the following text, is not understood. The second point is: So, what is the reasoning? For example, the nature of impermanence made on the vase, and on all things, fire and smoke are the cause of things, showing these reasonings, the dharma, for the reason that the identity relationship between the made and impermanent, and the arising relationship between fire and smoke are not understood, it should be shown to the opponent, because those two opponents understand these two relationships through examples, this is the reasoning. Moreover, when the dissimilar example is not established in things, following on the similar example

It means that by pointing out "existence," one establishes "non-existence." Thirdly, for those wise ones who, by such instruction, understand the pervasive relationship on similar examples and thus remember the universal concept, and for those wise ones who remember the universal concept from the beginning and do not forget it, as the subject, the subsequent inference does not depend on the statement of the pervasiveness, because for the subsequent inference, it is sufficient to state only the reason as the property of the similar class. Then, how should one deal with the ignorant opponent who, although understanding the pervasive relationship on the example, is unable to remember the universal concept? Because the example itself indicates the relationship, if one understands the relationship on the example, but the opponent does not remember the universal concept, as the subject, you must state the pervasiveness, because it is necessary to make the one who does not remember the universal concept remember it. Then, is it necessary to state both? For such an opponent, as the subject, in your presence, truly stating any one of the two pervasivenesses will cause the unstated other to arise with correct recollection, because he will thereby understand the meaning of the other. Regarding these meanings, some explain the meaning of "wise" as merely understanding the relationship on the example, and think that it is not necessary to state the pervasiveness for it, which is unreasonable, because merely understanding the relationship on the example is not the wise one in this case, and in order to make him remember the universal concept, it is necessary to state the pervasiveness. Some explain the meaning of the previous statement as understanding the reverse from the statement "if these dharmas do not exist, then those permanent dharmas also do not exist," if one understands from the statement, then how to state? For the unwise one of the two people, the way of instruction is "on the example," etc., for the wise one, the way of instruction is "for the wise ones," etc. It is also unreasonable to explain the meaning of merely stating the property of the similar class as the valid means of determining the property of the similar class, because explaining the recognition of stating the reverse pervasiveness as stating the subsequent pervasiveness on the example is self-contradictory, and the unrecognized reverse knowledge is merely, and the meaning of the wise one here is different, if one explains merely stating the reason as determining the property of the similar class, then "having said any one of the two" must also be explained as determining the pervasiveness. This own system is the view of the self-commentary and the root commentary of the 'Rig gter', while other Tibetans think that the meaning of these three verses is
