Therefore, it should not be allowed that the word "that" has the meaning of benefit. Because for this word, there is no reason that causes it to have different meanings. Second, there are four cases of applying words that summarize differences into one by eliminating distinctions: differences appear as one and are given the generality of the kind; negating that the name given is established in meaning; therefore, it is revealed that the distinction that holds the generality is mistaken; the cause of the lineage of this mistake is explained. The first case is mentioned in the self-commentary: "Then, how are things that have a single inverted nature called generality? Because they are not related, and there is no other generality." The answer is: "What kind of generality is, has already been explained. Things that are not mixed refer to other things, and things that are not related are the similarity of things that are the opposite of this." It is also said that some people think that there are two kinds of generality: the generality that exists in things and the generality that exists in consciousness. The first is that all vases are the same in being different from non-vases, so it is called generality because it pervades all vases. The second is that in distinction, all vases appear in different forms, but are regarded as one because they mix similar things together. They think that the former has been explained, and the latter is shown here, which is unreasonable. Because the generality explained before is not the similar generality that pervades all vases, but the generality that distinguishes the many differences of one vase. Moreover, both of the generalities that you think depend on different things, which will be mentioned later. Some say that generality is different from other things, and that things that are different from different kinds and are not related are the generality of opposite things, so only their own characteristics are given the name of generality, as it is said in the Ornament for Clear Realization: "Different from similar things and other things, relying on difference." Others say that for the part that is different from different kinds, the part that each has is also given generality, both of these explanations are unreasonable. If the generality explained before refers to naming the self-character as generality in meaning, then it must be admitted that the three of character, dharma, and meaning in the measure of the nature of the sign are all self-characters, so in this case, the need to elaborate on the classification of excluding others will be lost. Therefore, the meaning here is auspicious...

I will explain based on the oral instructions of Densapaṇḍita. Those who enjoy the secret words of logic, please bow your heads and listen. If there is no other opposite meaning, then the opposite self-characteristics will not have a commonality, because the self-characteristics do not follow each other, so there is no common substance; and because there is no other opposite meaning, there is also no other common substance. If you ask this, then, here there are two commonalities: Just as it is said, "Each abides in its own nature," the common things of the self-characteristics that do not mix with each other, just as it is said, "Separate from other things," are unrelated to things of the same kind and different kinds, that is, the opposite. The similarity of the self-characteristics that are opposite to this is the nature of commonality, as mentioned before. In short, dividing the same sound, from the perspective of exclusion, into three opposite aspects of sound, action, and impermanence, is the commonality of sound, which has already been explained. As it is said in the Treasure of Intellect: "Because the object of exclusion and the scope of use are different, even the same thing can have different opposite aspects." Also, the necessity of separating in this way is: "In order to understand what is not understood as one thing, distinctions are made." It's like that. Furthermore, the meaning of "moreover" is: apart from the commonality of distinguishing different things from one thing, I will explain from the commonality that appears as different as one. As it is said in the Treasure of Intellect: "For things with the same action and characteristics, due to the power of habit, they are attached to one thing." Also, the necessity of summarizing into one thing is: "In order to establish and refute different things, the action will become easy to understand." It's like that. Here, the three opposite aspects of sound, action, and impermanence on the sound are all commonalities, and the meanings of opposite, commonality, and exclusion of others are the same, which is clearly stated in the root text and commentary and in the Treasure of Intellect, but the way of establishing commonality and difference nowadays does not match even a part of it. Establishing one's own tenet has already been shown in the meaning of commonality. Therefore, as an answer to the previous question, I have already explained the commonality of distinguishing one thing into different commonalities. Here, relying on things that are different from non-trees, that is, clear trees, born through lineage, clear trees in meaning, for the conceptual mind that thinks the form of trees is one, the subject of debate. Clear trees appear as one form of trees, because you (conceptual mind) distinguish other things by the form produced by habit,
