Regarding phenomena: It is not that the wheel assists, yet it relies on the wheel. If there is no wheel, there is the reason for falling into another place. What is the meaning of this? Because of one's own immediate cause and the similarity of location, the immediate cause arises in that location, due to the ability of the wheel and so forth. If it is thought that clarity and generality are also the same, then regarding the generality as a phenomenon: it is not possible that what is produced by clarity, residing in the same location as its own immediate cause, is permanent. If it is said that the generality of clarity is not newly produced from something that did not exist before, but is the basis for something that is already established, then regarding generality as a phenomenon: it should not be maintained by clarity, because it can exist even without clarity. Furthermore, regarding generality as a phenomenon: it is also not reasonable for it to be maintained by clarity, because if one examines whether the maintenance done by clarity is the same as or different from itself, it is not reasonable for it to be maintained by clarity. If they are different, then regarding clarity as a phenomenon: it should not maintain generality, because it maintains a substance other than generality. If they are not different, then regarding the maintenance of generality as a phenomenon: it should not be done by clarity, because the generality that is not done by clarity is one substance with itself. The second has two parts: the object of clarification and the clarifier are not established as examples; even if they are established, they do not accord with reason. The first is that, according to the second point examined above, if generality is the object of clarification and the clarifier, then it must be cause and effect, because the object of clarification, in the sense that it can actually generate a consciousness that focuses on its own object, relies on the perspective of another clarifier to generate its own apprehension. Whatever is the object of clarification, the clarifier that is the agent of its ability to generate its own apprehending consciousness is also considered the cause of that object of clarification. The proposition is established, because if the object of clarification, such as a vase, is capable of actually generating its own apprehending consciousness from the beginning without relying on the clarifier, then it is not permissible to actually rely on the clarifier that generates its own apprehending consciousness. Regarding that generality as a phenomenon: it should not be clarified by the clarity that is combined with generality, because it cannot be transformed into the ability to generate its own apprehending consciousness by the power of clarity's assistance. If it is said that it is not pervasive, because establishing clarity as the clarifier of generality does not mean that it can generate the consciousness that apprehends generality.

If it is said that because the eye faculty is apprehended as the general holder, it is established as the general illuminator. The illuminator, just as eye medicine and the like benefit the eye faculty, you are not apprehending the eye faculty as the general holder, because at times when you are present and absent, there is no difference in the clarity of the faculty's cognition of the general. Secondly, if it is thought that merely because the illuminator is the illuminator of all kinds, it is considered to possess or abide in the kind, then the lamp and the like, the faculty of mind, should be considered to possess or abide in the general of cows and the like, because those generals are the cause of illumination for knowledge. Secondly, there are three ways to show the harm to existence itself: it is inferred that others do not have general wisdom, the reason for the inference is established in others, and the refutation of others' answers that are not established. Firstly, according to those particularists who consider the genus to be a substance other than the illuminator, or those Samkhyas who consider it not to be a different substance but to be one, how does the general wisdom arise from the general of the cow, which has not previously appeared, by means of the existence of the cow general? It does not arise, because it is impossible to see the cow general that exists in the previous illuminator in another you. Secondly, if it is said that the reason is not established, according to the Samkhyas, the general, in the later illuminator, does not actually follow, because it is not different from the previous illuminator, but is one. According to the particularists, even if the general is a different substance from the illuminator, the general does not exist in the other later illuminator, because the other later illuminator does not depend on the other later illuminator, because you exist in the previous illuminator and do not follow the later illuminator, and you do not exist when the later illuminator arises. You also do not possess the two parts of existing in the previous illuminator and existing in the later illuminator. The first reason is established, because the basis of the general, the previous illuminator, is not completely abandoned. Therefore, the so-called general existing in the previously arising illuminator and the later arising illuminator is also a cause of misery. There are two parts to the third: refuting the absence of the general between the illuminators, and refuting the presence of the general between the illuminators. Firstly, the teacher of the particularists, the grain eater, considers a general
