It is like verifying. Second: The debater, the Vedas, is like a prostitute who overcomes her master with flattery, because he has not completely eliminated the contradictions with the three valid cognitions that are obstacles to entering the treatise, and has not shown that the three dharmas, such as the meaning connection of the treatise, which are the limbs of entering, exist. Because the Vedas claim that everything is true by the sign of not deceiving one side. If you ask how the contradictions with the three valid cognitions exist and how they have not been eliminated? The Vedas, the Dharma, state meanings that contradict the three valid cognitions, namely: the person is the permanent agent; sounds and other things are permanent; the general characteristic that transcends the scope of the senses is apprehended by the senses; things are produced by unequal causes, produced by permanent causes; existence is unequal, existing by relying on other objects; destruction is unequal, destroyed by other causes that arose later than its own cause; moreover, mental obscurations and the permanence of sound, etc., are objects refuted by the two types of direct perception; or, admitting that sin is the result of affliction, and then saying that bathing can eliminate sin, etc., contradicts the inference that relies on scripture, because it is stated in this way. The Vedas, the Dharma, has not completely eliminated the contradictions with the three valid cognitions, because it has not answered the arguments that contradict them. Third, if seeing one aspect of a word as true establishes that all the remaining words are valid cognitions, that is, true, then what is not a valid cognition, that is, untrue, in this large number of words spoken by a person? There is nothing untrue, because you do not say that there is not a single true meaning in it, that is, it is possible that one aspect is true. Fourth, therefore, there are two kinds of confusion in the meaning expressed by mere language: mere language has no connection with meaning; therefore, the meaning expressed cannot be determined. First, this sound, the Dharma, is not inherently related to the object of expression that it clings to, or its result, because even if there is no object of expression that it clings to, it exists in the speaker's mind, that is, it arises only from the intention to express. Therefore, the expressing sound, the Dharma, cannot establish from you that the object of expression that you cling to exists, because you are with the object of expression that you cling to.

Because neither of the two busy states is accomplished. It pervades. Because even if completely reversed from this one self-nature arising relationship, there is no non-confusion about what is to be proven. If it is said that the expressive sound is not the result of the expressed meaning, this is not established, because the application of the expressive sounds to the meaning arises from what is expressed, because from what is expressed arises the direct perception of seeing it, from that arises the desire to speak, from that arises the word, therefore it is produced through what is expressed. Then, for a pot as the subject, for the sound that expresses both the mutually contradictory constant and impermanent, how is it applied? It is not applied, because it is not the nature of both constant and impermanent. Second, the word and meaning are not related, therefore, the scriptures as the subject, from the scriptures as the reason established, is its own expressed meaning determined by valid cognition or not? Because the scriptures and their own expressed objects, from some realms of the valid cognition of the person who wants to understand what is expressed from the scriptures, if there is no connection of non-occurrence, then it is not established. Therefore, the scriptures as the subject, because you are valid cognition, even if you are reversed, it will not be established that there is no deserved meaning, because you are not valid cognition. Therefore, mundane valid cognition as the subject, you with the result of no deserved meaning determined, cannot be established because you do not see, therefore. Fifth, showing internal contradiction and rebuking the speaker: The foolish logician as the subject, possesses the five signs of the fruit of corrupted wisdom, namely: considering the Vedas that show various internal contradictions as valid cognition, and saying that the eternal person is the creator, and thinking that bathing the body can eliminate the sins of the mind, and being arrogant as a Brahmin even without qualities such as wisdom and discipline, and relying on five people to destroy sins, etc., saying that it is creating bodily suffering, because it possesses these five. Third, is the commentary on the words of the Pramāṇavārttika, the "Rays of Samantabhadra," the inference for oneself, that is, the explanation of the first chapter. Good! Good!
