It is. The Buddha's abandonment is complete abandonment, because through various means, with many methods, long-term habituation, the imprints of afflictions are abandoned. This is proven to be more superior than the Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha Arhats, because although they do not have the cause of afflictions, nor the fruit of suffering, they are not clear about the explanation of the three vehicles' paths, and the bad conduct of the body is manifested in jumping like a monkey when going for alms, the bad conduct of speech is manifested in saying things like "outcastes," and the bad conduct of the mind is manifested in occasionally not abiding equally, being in a state of mind that has not been predicted. The second part is divided into two points: debate and answer. The first point is: Some royal speculators say: Shakyamuni Buddha is not one who has exhausted faults, because he speaks, and is a person, etc. The second part is divided into two points: showing that the proof is excessive, refuting by examining the meaning of what is to be proven. The first point is: Speaking, etc., is the proof that Shakyamuni Buddha is not one who has exhausted faults, this is wrong, because establishing it in this way will doubt the reversal. The second point is: If the proposition is that faults have not been exhausted, then is its proof because of being constant? Or because there is no method to abandon it? Or because there is a method but it is not known? If analyzed in this way, then all three reasons are not established, the reasons are in order: because you have an antidote, because your antidote through habituation will cause your cause to be exhausted, and because the nature of your cause, through knowing, also establishes knowing the antidote of the cause. Fourth, the way in which protection arises from that is: The Bhagavan is the protector spoken of in the sutra's offering praise, because through truly proclaiming the path that he himself has seen and experienced, he protects sentient beings to be tamed from suffering. How does he truly proclaim? The Bhagavan does not lie, he does not proclaim the path in a reversed way, because proclaiming it in that way has no fruit, that is, it is not necessary. If because of not having compassion, he proclaims in a reversed way

If one thinks like that. Blessed One Dharma, it is not because of lack of compassion that you speak perversely, but because you possess great compassion. Because all actions of body, speech, and mind are diligently practiced for the benefit of others in countless eons. Fifth, therefore, the reason for establishing the existence of proof is: Blessed One Dharma, you have the proof of being a valid person, because your proof—compassion—has been proven by reason, and from this it has been proven that the teacher, the Sugata, and the protector arise independently. Third, there are five points to establish effort from preventing non-effort: Establishing the protector with valid reasoning. From this, the way to establish the Sugata. From this, the way to establish the teacher. From this, the way to establish compassion. Therefore, it is established that effort has been made. First, there are two: Showing the Four Noble Truths as the protector. Establishing the Four Noble Truths to be shown by reason. The first is: In explaining the meaning of the protector, the Truth of the Path is explained, or, because the four proofs are explained in the order of arising, only the existence of the proof is established, or, because it is explained in the reverse order, the effort on the proof is also established, that is, Blessed One Dharma, is the protector, because for those who seek liberation, what is to be known is suffering, what is to be abandoned is origin, what is to be attained is cessation, and what is to be cultivated is the path, these Four Noble Truths are taught without perversion. The proof of teaching without perversion—the teacher—teaches the Four Noble Truths as they are, because it is established by valid reasoning. This should be combined with the following treatises. Second, there are four points: Establishing the self-character and characteristics, thereby explaining the Truth of Suffering. Establishing suffering and its causes, thereby explaining the Truth of Origin. Establishing the cessation of suffering, thereby explaining the Truth of Cessation. Establishing the antidote to the view of self, thereby explaining the Truth of the Path. First, there are two: Establishing the self-character as samsara. Establishing the characteristics as impermanence, etc. First, there are three: Showing suffering as samsara. Establishing the existence of samsara by reason. If there is no samsara, there would be too great a fault. The first is: The aggregates of clinging that are the cause of samsara without interruption by afflictions, karma, and maturation, Dharma, is the Truth of Suffering.
