Just as some opponents, on the subject of sound, rely on the qualities of space that are nominally established, even though the action that is identical to it is not established, it does not harm the establishment of the property of the subject. Secondly, as for the sound of the reason, although some names are not established as a common appearance in the subject of dispute by both the proponent and the opponent, if the object of the reason, that is, the meaning, is established as a common appearance in the subject of dispute by both the proponent and the opponent, then the property of the subject will be established. For example, to the Vaibhashika, who believes that atoms are permanent, the Buddhist says: Atoms, the subject, are impermanent, because they have a body, and because they are obstructive, etc., as proof. Although the Vaibhashika does not accept the name of having a body as being established on the atoms of the four elements, the meaning is tangible, so it is proof. Moreover, the Vaibhashika believes that there are two kinds of substances: self and mind, and direction, time, and space are substances that pervade all places, and the four elements such as earth are substances that do not pervade all places. The measure of substances that do not pervade all places is within the category of qualities, and it is admitted that it has the name of having a body, but it is not admitted that it is an atom, so although the name is not established, the meaning is tangible, and it is established as a common appearance by both the proponent and the opponent, so the meaning of having a body becomes a correct proof. Therefore, if the meaning of the reason itself is confused, etc., not established, and contradictory, then even if the sound of the reason is not confused, it should be known that the proof has faults, because the object of the reason, that is, the meaning, of the two, the object of what is to be proven, that is, the meaning, must be established. An example of the sound of the reason not being confused, but the meaning being confused is: a cow, the subject, has horns, because it can walk. And, an elephant calf, the subject, is an elephant, because it has hands. When it is established as proof, the meaning expressed by the two words "can walk" and "has hands" is famous in the world only for cows and elephants, so it is understood as not being common to horns and elephants. But if the meaning that this word wants to express, can walk and has hands, the subject, is you, then it is not necessarily horns and elephants, because a person is also you.

Yes. Fourthly, there are four: Firstly, in one, there is a contradiction between cause and non-cause. Because there is no turning back, it is not suitable as a cause. Because there is no following, it is not suitable as a cause. This is to abandon the previous uncertain reason. The first is: If one wishes that the permanent and singular Lord makes all beings, then that entity of the Lord is the subject. Just as it is the cause of the fruit at some time, how does it become a non-cause at another time? It is impossible to have a time of change, because it is always the cause of the fruit. The sign has been clearly accepted. Also, that Lord is the subject. By what difference does one not wish to be a non-cause at the time when one wishes to be a cause? It must be wished, because even at the time of wishing to be a cause, it has not become a special nature different from the time of being a non-cause. If there is no pervasion, then the healing wound of a black person's body is the subject. Why is it that a piece of wood that has no connection with you is not considered to be your cause? It should be considered, because even though it has not become a special nature different from a non-cause, there is a cause. It cannot be accepted, because the wound of a black person's body is due to the connection between weapons and the black person's body, and its healing is due to the connection between medicine and so on. If the previous reason is not established, then the Lord is the subject. It is also not permissible to make a special nature different from the time of being a non-cause, because it is permanent without any difference in nature between before and after. The second is: The Lord is the subject. It is difficult to know by valid cognition even the ability to produce fruit in you, because you have no turning back from your own fruit by the power of reversal, because you are permanent. The third is: The Lord, other than those such as potters and clay, which are seen to be certain to produce a pot when they are present, is the subject. You are not the cause of the pot, because if you think of yourself as the cause of that pot, then in all fruits, the causes will become endlessly mixed together. Fourthly, there are two: Abandoning uncertainty due to external conditions, and abandoning uncertainty due to internal conditions. The first is: Because it has not become a special nature different from the time of being a non-cause above, there is no fault in becoming a non-cause, because the earth and so on are permanent, quick
