Accomplishment. If this is accomplished, then it is accomplished in the realization of clarity to the utmost on the path truth. If this is accomplished, then, as it is said in the scriptures, "The protector sees the path himself," the protector who shows the path he has seen to others is accomplished. Therefore, it is said that there is an establisher, such as "The establisher is from the habituation of compassion," and so on. The answer to the third debate is revealed by explaining the four establishers in reverse order. First, it is established by reasoning that the protector who truly proclaims the four noble truths to others is established. If this is established, then it is established that he has manifested the three special realizations. If this is established, then it is established that the teacher who leads to the path has appeared first. If this is established, then it is established that the great compassion of love that desires to remove the suffering of others has appeared first. Therefore, it is said that this teacher has diligently strived for the two means of establishment, that is, either protecting, the four truths are skillful in revealing, and so on. Therefore, the forward direction is the reason for establishing the nature of being able to produce a result from the sign of a complete collection of causes and conditions; the reverse direction is the sign of the result that establishes the cause that has preceded. Therefore, it is also necessary to know separately that there is only the establisher of validity, and that this teacher has diligently strived for the establisher. It will benefit those who are worthy to be tamed. Secondly, the meaning of the text itself has two parts: stating the wrong conception of not having an establisher, and showing the establisher after refuting the wrong conception. The first is: the Bhagavan is valid, and it is not appropriate to rely on the establisher for this, because in general, if a person is valid, then he must know all the hidden meanings, because that does not exist, and because the cause of that establisher itself does not exist, and because it is not the case that he diligently strives for that cause, this is what some people, such as the king's diviners, vehemently proclaim. The second has three parts: refuting the invalid and establishing the valid, refuting the non-establisher and showing the establisher, refuting the non-diligent and establishing the diligent. The first has four parts: it is appropriate to seek someone who knows all the necessary meanings, it is appropriate to examine whether or not there is knowledge of the meaning in this, showing that the one who knows all the necessary meanings is valid, and establishing that he is the establisher of validity. The first is: the hidden

Whether one knows all the meanings or not, whoever is well-versed in the means of liberation is a reliable person for those seeking liberation. For example, if this teacher teaches without knowing the means of liberation, then those who doubt that he might teach the wrong path and are confused by this, those with reasoning ability, will seek out some virtuous friends who are well-versed in the means of liberation, because they are seeking virtuous friends in order to take seriously the means of liberation taught by the teacher. The second point is that, therefore, those seeking liberation should examine in detail which virtuous friend possesses the wisdom that is the means of liberation, and should not examine whether this virtuous friend knows the number of insects, etc., because those are sometimes not needed at all by us seekers of liberation. The third point is that, therefore, you should regard as reliable the one who truly knows the reality of the truth of cessation, which is to be adopted, along with the truth of the path, which includes the means, and the reality of the truth of suffering, which is to be abandoned, along with the truth of origin, which includes the means, and not just the one who knows all hidden things. Because you are completely versed in all the means of liberation. This is initially not accepted because it cannot be proven by reasoning, not because it is impossible. Knower of all! We are not denying the all-knowing one, but because we cannot understand, we consider you to be the supreme wise one. The fourth point is that it does not matter whether this teacher can see far away or not, the one who sees the four truths of suchness that are desired is a reliable person. If even if one does not understand the desired meaning, but one who sees far away is a reliable person, then those wise people who understand the meaning that people desire, but do not see distant things, should be abandoned, and vultures and dakinis, etc., should be served as teachers, because that would be something worthy of serving. The second part has five points: establishing great compassion through reasoning, the way the teacher arises from that, the way the Sugata arises from that, the way the protector arises from that, therefore it is proven that there is an establisher. The first part has three points: the establisher
