I must indicate with meaning, the determination of entering the object is guided by self-power, and the determination of the part of not deceiving that is guided by self-power, the two points are the same. If it is thought that because it is not different from consciousness, can the determination of not deceiving also be guided by self-power? The valid cognition that can be named, the dharma, from the determination of the mind's name, the subsequent determining consciousness, determines the meaning-reverse of the valid cognition, the non-deceptive nature, because when the subsequent determining consciousness determines that it does not deceive the entering object, then the name of valid cognition is made. If it is asked whether that determining consciousness is guided by self-power or by other-power? As it is said: The two of meaning-clarity and the two of self-clarity, those who follow inference are determined by self-power, the first one and the one who is not trusted, those with causes of error are determined by other-power. It should be known as such. Most Tibetans think that the former only shows self-determination, and the latter only shows other-determination, which seems to be not distinguishing the difference in what basis to establish self-determination and other-determination. Moreover, the valid cognition of self-determination and other-determination also seems to be not knowing the way to establish it only on the valid cognition that can be named. What is said here is not the same as the explanation of Jamyang Sakya, and also, for this, the part of consciousness is meaning-reverse and not name, and the difference that saying "is valid cognition" is also meaning-reverse and not name is very important, which has already been indicated in the general meaning. If it is thought that consciousness is from self-power, and non-deception is determined from name, then will the treatises on valid cognition become meaningless? The treatises on valid cognition, the dharma, are not meaningless, because if one does not understand the characteristic of the valid cognition that can be named, one cannot establish the Bhagavan as valid cognition, therefore it has the necessity of dispelling the ignorance of valid cognition and the characteristic of valid cognition, and making one realize without inversion. Second, if it is asked whether the "clarification of unknown meaning" said in some parts of Dignāga's treatises contradicts? It does not contradict, because clarifying the unknown meaning is also the same meaning as the former, so it is the characteristic of valid cognition. Lha thinks that the characteristic is other, and Guṇaprabha thinks that the characteristic and the characterized are other, which has already been prohibited in the Treasury of Reasoning, some people think that the former shows Dharmakīrti's own system, and the latter shows Dignāga's school, which has already been prohibited in the general meaning. Does this not pervade the valid cognition of realizing refutation? The answer to this is, Indians and

Some are, is it the very nature of the object to be refuted? Is it the very nature of the dharma to be refuted? Since it shows the very appearance of the apprehended object of conceptualization as the object of engagement, there is no fault. Although such an answer was given, Jetsun Sakya Pandita said, "It is reasonable to examine the existence or non-existence of characteristics." This will be explained below. Then, after directly realizing the self-nature of blue and other characteristics, the consciousness that holds the general characteristic of blue should become valid cognition. Because it is the manifestor of the unknown object, that is, because it is the knower of the general characteristic that was previously unknown by direct perception. If it is thought so, then, it (the consciousness that holds the general characteristic of blue) is newly knowing the general characteristic of blue, but it will not become the manifestor of the unknown object. Because whatever is previously unknown, and newly knows either the existence or non-existence of its own characteristic, that is the definition of valid cognition, and this is the intention, that is, the meaning of that definition. Why? If the self-characteristic becomes a valid cognition of conventional terms, then it is necessary to know either your existence or non-existence. Because the ascertainment that it induces will examine either your existence or non-existence. Third, the Bhagavan is the person of valid cognition, because he is the person who does not deceive the meaning of those to be tamed, and who possesses that nature. Most Tibetans explain it as the meaning of possessing both definitions, because the previous treatises determined the meaning of valid cognition in the sutra's praise, and the later treatises did not understand the meaning of avoiding contradiction with other treatises. Second, explaining the necessity of saying "becoming," there are three: Saying "becoming" in order to refute self-origination, establishing that valid cognition depends on means, and explaining in detail the refutation of self-origination. First, although it is sufficient to praise as valid cognition, why say "becoming"? In the sutra's praise, saying "becoming" itself is necessary, because it is for refuting the self-originated valid cognition that does not arise from its own cause. Second, the Bhagavan, it is reasonable to be valid cognition by relying on diligence in the non-perverted cause of proof, because any person of valid cognition has already refuted the self-originated valid cognition. Third, there are four: refuting the permanent self-originated valid cognition, refuting the impermanent self-originated valid cognition, refuting the proof of the existence of self-origination, and refuting the action of self-origination itself. First,
