Because there is no reverse explanation of what has become established. If you think that "Because what is it that is valid?" explains validity in reverse. Then, "Therefore it is valid" would also explain validity in reverse in the case of arising. Therefore, these two texts are a summary of the conclusions of the two methods of explanation, and are not texts that explain in reverse. Explaining the actual meaning. Explaining that the object to be proven has become valid. The second has three parts: explaining that the object to be proven has become valid; explaining its three proofs; explaining the need to praise with validity. The first has two parts: showing the Bhagavan (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་) as a valid person; explaining the need to mention "become". The first has three parts: showing the validity that comes from the Sutras; refuting the contradiction between one's own school and other schools; applying it to the meaning of the occasion. The first has three parts: explaining the definition with meaning; refuting the three faults of the general definition; explaining the basis for certainty on the basis of the subject. First, if the Bhagavan is praised in the invocation of the Sutra through the door of validity, what is the nature of validity? What makes it valid? Here, the nature of validity is infallible knowledge. That infallibility also has three characteristics: In what action is it infallible? It is infallible in the object of entering and returning. What agent is infallible? The mind that measures how things exist with valid knowledge is infallible. How is the action infallible? Because it has its own characteristics, it is infallible that it exists in a way that it can function when it enters. Because it does not have its own characteristics, it is infallible that it is empty of the ability to function when it returns. The Sakya's explanation is different from others. The second has three parts: refuting the faults of non-pervasiveness, over-pervasiveness, and impossibility. First, if the definition of validity, "infallible," has the fault of non-pervasiveness, because there is no infallibility in the validity of sound. Then, does "arising from sound" mean understanding the intention of motivation from the expressing sound, or understanding the meaning of what is expressed? According to the first, such a thing arising from sound is also a subject, it is infallible, because it shows the place of entry that the speaker wants to express. To show it clearly, (this is) the action of the speaker, that is, the meaning of the pot, which has become the object of the mind of wanting to express.

In order to establish what is intended to be expressed, which clearly appears in the mind, that is, to argue for it. The sound of "a pot that is temporarily free from five" is the subject. It is a valid means of cognition, that is, it is suitable to be a reason, because it possesses the three characteristics. Therefore, the consciousness that relies on it is a valid means of cognition because it does not deceive its object of engagement. According to the second view, the sound itself is the subject. The understanding of its own object of fixation arising from its own object of fixation is not a valid means of cognition, because it is the cause of the meaning of its own object of fixation, not the result. The second point is that the definition of valid cognition, "non-deceptive," has the fault of being too pervasive, because conventional consciousness is non-deceptive. If someone says: like the conceptual thought of the general characteristic of a pot, which is brought about by the direct perception of grasping a pot, this conventional consciousness is the subject. It is not accepted that it is non-deceptive with respect to the pot, because it apprehends by adding to the pot that has already been grasped by the direct perception of grasping a pot that brings it about. The third point is that the Particularists say: the definition of valid cognition has the fault of being impossible in consciousness, because it is impossible in the basis of valid cognition, the colored sense organ. If someone says: the consciousness that understands the object to be measured is a valid means of cognition, but the colored sense organ, etc., are not valid means of cognition, because the result of valid cognition has two kinds of results: the result of decision and the result of offering. The first is that the consciousness is the main thing in knowing the meaning of things to be accepted and rejected, and then engaging and disengaging, but the sense organ, etc., are not. If there is consciousness with the aspect of its own object to be measured, then there is the second result, which is the understanding of meaning. If not, even if there are sense organs, etc., they are useless. The latter reason is established, because the consciousness with the aspect of the object exists differently, therefore the term for the understanding of meaning of consciousness is also established as different. The third point is, then, how are the two definitions of non-deceptive and consciousness determined on the basis of valid cognition? Conventional valid cognition is the subject. It is the understanding of meaning that knows its own nature from self-awareness, because self-experiencing self-aware direct perception can lead to the certainty that it is the meaning of knowing oneself. This shows that all conventional valid cognitions are self-knowing in the part of the definition that is the knowing part, and self-aware direct perception is in the part of the definition that is non-deceptive.
