It seems that the treatise on the nature of valid cognition is considered to be only the chapter on direct perception in the Sutra. In the connection of the third chapter, it is said that the cause explained in the treatise on the nature of valid cognition by the teacher is inference, and the explanation of the first half of the verse of praise at the beginning of the treatise has already been shown by the first chapter. That is because it is making an explanation of the nature of valid cognition, and it is said that "for the sake of two objects of measurement" and so on. It is also said that there are four wrong conceptions seen in valid cognition and its nature treatise, and these four wrong conceptions are said to be complete from the wrong conception of number to the wrong conception of result. The meaning of the chapter on direct perception being the treatise on the nature of valid cognition is also the meaning of showing the nature of valid cognition purely by showing the four, such as number. In the commentary, it is said, "If it is said that showing number and so on is meaningless in showing the nature of valid cognition, it is not so, because it is the meaning of the purity of nature." Because it is said so. Although the fault of explaining inference before inference does not apply here, the fault of explaining inference first also applies in the Compendium of Valid Cognition and the Explanation of Valid Cognition, because the meaning of the purity of nature through the removal of the four wrong conceptions also exists in the chapter on direct perception of those two. It should be known that this fault also applies to the previous treatises. The embellisher believes that of the two orders of writing the treatise and placing the volumes, the first is written according to the order of the Sutra, and the second is placed in the first chapter because the self-meaning has a self-explanation. Lhawang Lo said that there is a mistake even in the order of the chapters, and believes that the real order is the order of writing the treatise, because in the Ornament, after explaining the chapter on the meaning of others, it is said that immediately after explaining the inference for one's own meaning, then explaining the inference for the meaning of others. This is also not the intention of the treatise, because no matter what order it is written in, the beginning and end must be arranged when the volumes are placed, and that which is placed is the real order, otherwise the statement of "removing the net of discrimination" and so on...

Because both the homage and the pledge to compose appear at the beginning of the chapter on the establishment of validity, it would be illogical. If it is thought that it is the homage and pledge to compose of the self-commentary, so there is no fault, that is also unreasonable. Because there is no homage and pledge to compose for the entire treatise, but only added to one chapter in the middle, this is not the way of Indian scholars. Secondly, there are two types: the order of chapters in the Compendium, and the order of chapters in this treatise. The first is: In the homage, only the name of the validity to be expressed is shown, and then at the beginning of the chapter on direct perception, it is determined that it is divided into direct perception and inference. Then, explaining direct perception and inference in order is the order of high and low, because inference ultimately leads to direct perception, and the object to be measured ultimately leads to self-character. Then, among the two inferences, the self-benefit inference is explained first, because it is the real inference. When it relies on the reason in the case of self-benefit, there is no need for a statement of proof, but when it relies on the reason in the case of other-benefit, it needs to rely on a statement of proof, so the other-benefit inference is explained after that. Because the Pramāṇavārttika also has no superfluous need, this order is followed. The second is: Then, why does this treatise not explain the order in that way? Because of the need, the self-benefit is explained first. What is the need? It is that the Bhagavan is a valid person is true, because this is the ultimate thing to be proven in this treatise. The opposite of that is untrue, because this is the ultimate thing to be refuted in this treatise. Distinguishing them is to refute the wrong conception of the entity, thinking that there is no valid person, thereby proving all the meanings of the need, that is, the omniscient all-knower. Refuting the wrong conception of the proof, thinking that there is no proof, and thinking that there is no effort to do it, thereby explaining the proof in four ways, thereby proving that there is proof, and explaining the method of making effort to do the proof in the opposite way. These all rely on the inference of the power of things, so in the establishment of validity, before distinguishing between true and untrue, the self-benefit inference is explained first. By doing so, it is in accordance with the Compendium.
