If it is said to be so, speech, as the subject, it is wrong to assert that you need many parts to understand the meaning, because your limb, that is, one part, can also understand all the meanings of speech through understanding. If it is said that because all parts of speech are heard simultaneously, understanding one part does not mean understanding all meanings, speech, as the subject, understanding meaning from you, the time when your parts are heard in sequence, should not depend on many differences of before and after, because when one part of you is heard, all parts of you are heard simultaneously. The second case is, if it is said that speech is indivisible and one, speech, as the subject, it is impossible for your parts to be understood sequentially, that is, to be heard, because you are without distinct parts. Second, is speech other than letters impermanent or permanent? If it is impermanent, the Vedic speech, as the subject, should be produced by effort, because whatever is impermanent has no other cause than effort. If admitted, the Vedic speech, as the subject, why is it not man-made but man-made, because it is produced by effort. If it is said to be permanent, the Vedic speech, as the subject, if permanent, should be recognized, that is, heard, because whatever is audible and permanent has no obstructive obscuration for hearing. If it is said that some of the co-operative causes for hearing speech are incomplete, so it is not heard, therefore it is always not heard. Sound, as the subject, that you produce hearing dependent on other causes is excellent, we also admit, but afterwards the certain permanence that remains the same as before is contradictory, because causes change. The third part is divided into two: denying not being pervasive, denying being pervasive. The first case is, is the indivisible Vedic speech pervasive in all places or not pervasive? If they are not pervasive, the Vedic speech, as the subject, will not be recognized in all other places except one place, because it exists only in one place. The second part is divided into two: establishing the thesis, refuting the fault. The first case is, if speech pervades all places, all sounds, as the subject, should be recognized simultaneously by all who can hear sounds, because you are audible, pervading all places.

Therefore, the second part is divided into two points: refuting the difference of conditioned phenomena, and refuting the difference of virtuous deeds. The first point is: If it is said that sound can only be heard because it is a conditioned phenomenon produced by causes and conditions, and that sense consciousness also only takes conditioned phenomena as its object, so all sounds cannot be perceived simultaneously. Then, sound, as the subject of debate, by what causes and conditions does it change? It should not change, because it is impermanent. Furthermore, if sound can be heard, and the sense consciousness has been well conditioned by conditioned phenomena, then that person should also hear all sounds simultaneously. Because the sound you hear and all sounds are essentially the same. The second point is: If it is said that only because one sound can be heard, the sense consciousness is affected by the difference of being well conditioned by conditioned phenomena, thereby causing the sense consciousness to operate in different ways, therefore auditory consciousness must only grasp one sound, so all sounds cannot be heard. Then, auditory consciousness, as the subject of debate, how can the clamor of many sounds gathered together, such as poetry and songs, be heard? It should not be heard, because it must only grasp one sound. If it is said that hearing the clamor is only hearing many non-expressive sounds simultaneously, but not hearing many expressive words simultaneously. Then, the idea that there is an expressive essence with different meanings beyond pure sound, as the subject of debate, is merely an extreme belief due to faith, because it is an unreasonable commitment. Furthermore, in the clamor, when other sounds remain silent, and only one person emits the sound of knowledge, how can the expressive sound be heard? It should not be heard, because it only hears pure sound. Or, auditory consciousness, as the subject of debate, how can it understand many different pure sounds? It should not understand, because even pure sounds can only be heard one by one. If it is uncertain, then the expressive sound is also equally uncertain to be heard only one by one. The debaters do not consider pure sound to be expressive, because whether it is the fault of having prior and posterior parts, or the fault of the impossibility of prior and posterior parts existing simultaneously, both exist. Therefore, they say that the indivisible word expressed by the sequential pure sounds is expressive. For expressive words, how can there be no sequence? There should be a sequence.
