Because it is impossible to reverse, one must rely solely on the sacred word. Among the sacred words, it is said that such a sacred word is reliable, which is said on the premise of fully examining its reliability. The second part has three points: explaining the definition of trustworthy words; refuting the meaning of non-deception; and explaining the method of inference from the general. The first point is: In general, the trustworthy words that are spoken are not merely sacred words, but because the preceding and following statements are coherent, they can indicate the places of acceptance and rejection, and they are not incapable of achieving the purpose, but can indicate the method of achieving the purpose and being consistent with it, and they are not useless, but can state the necessary meaning that is useful to people, that is, after fully examining whether the speech possesses these three characteristics, it is taken as a premise, rather than taking other speech that does not possess these three characteristics as a premise. The second point is: Visible manifestations and invisible hidden things, when you indicate these things, if neither manifestation nor self-powered inference, these two valid cognitions, cause harm, then this is the meaning of non-deception in the phrase "trustworthy words are not deceptive." Because it is necessary to prove that the sacred word is not deceptive in extremely hidden things by using the fact that neither of the two valid cognitions cause harm when you indicate things as a sign. Here, some people divide invisible things into hidden and extremely hidden, in order to compensate for the harmlessness of their own words, and others divide visible things into manifestation and hidden, believing that in invisible things, among the two inferences, the inference based on the sacred word does not cause harm, this explanation does not understand the meaning of the context, because it must be determined that the amount of harm is two kinds, and the words "from the general" and "non-deception here" etc. have not played a role, and proving that extremely hidden things are not deceptive by the sign of not deceiving the three measurable things is the same as what is to be proven and what can be proven. The third point is: The teacher's treatise does not say that the trustworthy word itself is an inference, but that the trustworthy word with three characteristics is not deceptive for manifestation and hidden things, and based on the universality determined by self-powered valid cognition, relying on that sacred word, to infer extremely hidden things.

The mind that knows is the subject. Although its object is extremely obscure, it is said that it can only be inferred. Because, for the continuum of those who see the present, what प्रमाण can prove the extremely obscure realm? Because the direct perception of the continuum of those who see the present has no opportunity to enter the extremely obscure realm. Then, what is the reason why it is possible to infer from the general? The trustworthy word is the subject. Because it can be inferred without deceiving in the case of other extremely obscure realms. Because (this word) does not deceive about the main content of the obscure realm, which is the Four Noble Truths. Because what you should accept is the Truth of Cessation, and what you should abandon is the Truth of Suffering, and its path, the Truth of Origin, as it has been shown, have been completely determined by direct perception. The former (views) are explained here as a classification of the former views by using the conjunction "or". And, by using "completely determined" as the cause, and then connecting the words "has been indicated", this is a rough understanding of the extremely subtle meaning. Because the former (view) has determined the basis of inference, and the latter (view) shows how to infer from the general. If completely determining the Four Noble Truths needs to be the cause of indicating the Four Noble Truths, then this contradicts the view that there is no certainty in the state of the Buddha. The second (part) has two aspects: stating the view, and explaining the refutation. The first aspect is: it is necessary to rely on an excellent person who has the merit of seeing things as they are, and who has exhausted faults. Because the words he speaks, other rational people can know that they have the meaning of reality, so they can prove what they want to express from it. If you say so, then the second aspect has two aspects: others do not have an excellent person, and you have established an excellent person. The first aspect is: if you can know that an excellent person is like that, then you should also admit that his words have a true meaning. However, for ordinary people, it is difficult to know whether others are excellent people as they are. Because it is difficult to find a measure that takes as its object whether others have such faults, or whether they do not have such faults. This is what other Buddhists know. The second aspect has three aspects: showing that it is possible to abandon faults, showing that abandoning them will not recur, and eliminating disputes over the cause of faults.
