Since it is not necessary to combine with the "Summary Explanation of Reasoning," it did not appear here, but in the "Commentary on Valid Cognition," it must be combined with it, so it appears here. "If there is no cause, there is no effect, because of the absence of its nature." This also clarifies this point. In the "Summary Explanation," it says, "If there is no cause, there is certainly no effect, the pseudo-reason is different from that." This is because it is based on identifying the pseudo-reason as different from "If there is no cause, there is certainly no effect." Regarding the explanations of others, the way in which the extensive explanation of pseudo-reasons can be combined with anything to establish a seemingly harmonious appearance has already been explained above. Those who cannot find these extremely vast treatises and only identify the four intermediate verses, and who think that there is no extensive explanation of pseudo-reasons at all, are a cause for laughter. Second, some say that if two valid cognitions contradict each other, they cannot refute the object to be refuted, but if scriptural authority contradicts, it can refute, because scriptural authority pervades all things. To refute this, there are five points: Mere sound is uncertain about the meaning, it is a pseudo-appearance. A word with a distinction is not established, it is a pseudo-appearance. Establishing a true meaning with a generic sound is also a pseudo-appearance. Therefore, mere words are mistaken about the meaning to be expressed, revealing internal contradictions, and are a reproach to the speaker. The first has two parts: Because there is no connection, it is not a valid proof. Here, we refute the contradiction with scripture. The first is: The sounds that are expressed are the subject. By stating that they exist as a reason, it is not established that the objects outside of one's expression have their own characteristics, because the objects outside of one's expression and the nature of not arising without being together do not exist. Therefore, those sounds that are expressed are the subject. It can show the motivation and intention in the speaker's mind, that is, it can establish it, because the three aspects of such establishment are complete. The second has two parts: Correcting the scriptural words that are suspected of contradiction. Establishing non-contradiction after explaining the meaning of the scripture. The first is: If the sounds that are expressed are not valid cognition of external objects, then it contradicts the inference stated in the Compendium on Valid Cognition, "Trustworthy words are not deceptive, and inference follows from the general characteristic." Answer: This does not say that it is the characteristic of inference, but when a realized person engages in accepting and rejecting extremely hidden things, by the power of the valid cognition of things,
