If so, this non-observation of a functional entity, with respect to this phenomenon, cannot establish the opposite of function in that basis, i.e., the name of non-existence, because the result is not necessarily pervaded by the name of non-function. Then, does this contradict the reason for establishing the name of definite non-existence mentioned earlier? The reason for establishing the name of definite non-existence, with respect to this phenomenon, your non-observation has two types, the first is assumed to be observable but not observed, because you are the object to be refuted, the reason of being observable but not observed. If this phenomenon is observable but not observed, then it can establish the name of definite non-existence of that phenomenon. Here, regarding the reason for not separately showing the negative sign of the previous ones, it is not shown because the example has already been established. It explains the determinant of non-observation, and that non-observation of non-appearing things cannot establish definite non-existence, and the divisions of the formulation of observable non-observation, etc., are made into sections. Those who explain that this treatise only explains the way to establish what is to be established by not observing non-appearing things, and that the next treatise only shows the divisions of the formulation of observable non-observation, have not completely focused their minds on the way the treatise unfolds, its location, and its necessity. When explaining the classification of homogeneous phenomena, it is necessary to explain why all eighteen reasons for non-observation are not shown separately. The three reasons have already been shown earlier, and this explains why the reason for non-observation of non-appearing things is not shown separately, while the remaining fourteen reasons for observing contradictory phenomena, and the non-observation of cause and effect, etc., must be explained by the next treatise as to why they are not shown separately. How is it? This reason has already been stated, and the remaining ones, although there are differences in terms of the way the formulation is established, such as the non-observation of related opposites and the observation of contradictory phenomena, in terms of the way of preventing the object to be refuted, they are ultimately the same in establishing the name of definite non-existence through observable non-observation. That is ultimately establishing the result from the cause, because it has been said before, it is included in the sign of nature through the aspect of pervasive relationship. If done in this way, then in the chapter on determining relationships in the first chapter, first is the non-observation of non-appearing things, and then the observable non-observation is distinguished from the aspect of formulation.

The method of separation has been explained, and in the chapter on direct perception, it says: "Negation itself, at all times, is established by non-apprehension." It also says: "Non-apprehension is merely, having the result of certainty about absence." It also says: "Here, the meaning of establishing these treatises will be understood in one aspect." The second part is divided into two points: explaining the method of classification from the perspective of reasoning, and elaborating on indirectly contradictory reasoning. The first point is: When explaining the distinctions of the subject-property, why are examples of visible cause-effect non-apprehension and visible contradictory entities not shown separately? Visible non-apprehension, as a subject-property, although there is no difference in the meaning of negating the object to be negated, there are many from the perspective of establishing reasoning, because in establishing one's own reasoning method, the nature of non-apprehension is established as the reason, such as the non-apprehension of pervasive causes, etc., or for the meaning of the object to be negated, it has the nature of harm, that is, the visible contradictory entity is established as the reason. How many kinds of visible contradictory entities are established as reasons? Generally speaking, contradictory subject-property, you have two kinds, because you have the cause of harm not exhausted, when it continues to exist, the power of the newly emerging harmer there causes the continuity of the harmed to disappear, or it is said to be simultaneously incompatible contradiction and mutually exclusive established contradiction, because there are two kinds of mutually exclusive contradictions. Examples are successively like cold touch and hot touch, and like permanence and destruction. So, if one of the contradictory entities of real contradiction is established as the reason, is there an argument to negate the other side? Real contradictory subject-property, although you do not have that, if you distinguish it, there will be that, because some of the meanings you distinguish are taken as the reason, and other valid cognitions rely on it to harm some other dharmas, and the basis of that valid cognition and the harmed of that valid cognition become contradictory through indirect means, for example, vase etc. subject-property, destruction becomes without relying on other causes after its own cause, because it is certain in the nature of destruction, relying on this reason, certainty and dependence also become contradictory through indirect means. The second part is divided into four points: if it is dependent, then certainty is contradictory.
