All natures of things will become a prohibition of all establishment and non-establishment, etc. Because your actions, impermanence, etc., and the prohibition of non-actions and permanence, etc., are all of one substance without difference in nature. If this is not established, if the substances are different, then establishment, action, impermanence, etc., as the subject of dharma, like a vase as the subject of dharma, both of you are in this situation, and the two of you will not gather on one vase, because the two of you are different in substance from the vase. Just as the establishment of a vase and the establishment of a woolen cloth do not coexist on the same basis. Also, the negation of permanence and the negation of non-action, etc., as the subject of dharma, will not gather on one vase, because they are different in substance from the vase. Just as the negation of non-vase and non-woolen cloth, etc., do not coexist on the same basis. Alternatively, one can first assume that action and impermanence are different in substance, and then apply it to the negation of non-action and the establishment of impermanence. The third point has three aspects: there is no increase or decrease, but it appears as if there is increase or decrease; in reality there is not, but it is not harmed by valid cognition; it is an illusion, but there is no awareness that it is an illusion. The first point is: in reality there is no negation and establishment, but as the basis for the appearance of various different dharmas such as action and impermanence, the subject of dharma that appears in conceptual thought, like a vase as the subject of dharma, this subject of dharma, for you, in terms of elimination, the dharma of negation seems to decrease, and the dharma of establishment seems to increase, because you are controlled by one, for example, establishing impermanence, this dharma seems to be shown, and other actions, etc., because no negation or establishment has been made, it is like being in a neutral state, if you negate a permanence, then it is like being away from permanence, and for other dharmas that have not been negated, it is like being dependent. The second point is: what does not exist in reality refers to things, that is, how the terms of negation and establishment of the object-possessor are shown through conceptual thought, this subject of dharma, how you investigate, just like that, the reality and non-reality of the dharma and the subject of dharma, without investigation, take the things with different self-characteristics as intermediaries, and recognize them as dependent names, and they will not be harmed by valid cognition, because you are the conventional truth of sound and meaning that arises from the habits of names since beginningless time. If the self-characteristics are different, then what? The eye sense is the subject of dharma, you only

It can be said to be different from that, because eye consciousness produces results, while sound consciousness does not produce results. Therefore, that which is not the cause of eye consciousness is different from eye consciousness, and that which is the cause of sound consciousness is different from sound consciousness. Both of these are your same meaning. Thirdly, for the self-characteristics that have just been mentioned, the conceptual mind that performs refutation and establishment by relying on it, the subject, is a deceptive illusion, because, in reality, there is no increase in the established dharma and no decrease in the refuted dharma, but it appears as if the established dharma is newly increasing and the refuted dharma is newly decreasing. If you ask whether you know it is an illusion, those conceptual minds that perform refutation and establishment, the subject, are also not known by themselves to be deceptive illusions, because, through the connection of that term and those objects of application, the appearance that appears to oneself is not the same as the external object, but it is seen as the external object, so the appearance and inference are combined into one, so that is the reason. Secondly, even if it is established, it is not certain that there is no similar instance, that is, you think that because there is no similar instance with self, life etc. will not return from that, which is unreasonable, because, that self, the subject, is not determined to be non-existent by valid cognition, but will become a doubt of existence or non-existence, because, you are establishing that it exists in the living body, and the correct proof will function. If you say that because Buddhists have promised no-self, it is established that there is no self, the Buddhist's promise of no-self, the subject, because you are a valid cognition, it is also unreasonable to establish no-self from you, because you yourself are not a valid cognition. Furthermore, even if you say that life etc. will not return from the absence of a similar instance with self, life etc., the subject, will doubt returning from a similar instance with self, because there is doubt about whether that similar instance with self exists or not, if you think so, then life etc., the subject, will also doubt returning from a dissimilar instance of no-self, that is, it will not be established by valid cognition that it returns, because, for a similar instance with self, whether it exists or not, it is not established by valid cognition. It is pervasive, like in the two aggregates of self and no-self, if it is definitely established that one like a similar instance with self exists, then the other self.
