If so, because there is no life etc., there is no self. If it is universally present, because of the opposite of self, the opposite of life is also not present in you, because self and life are not related. Universally present, because through the opposite of other unrelated things, it cannot become the opposite of other unrelated things. If it is said that the reason is not established, because life etc. arise from me, so it is related to arising from there. Life etc., this is the subject, you should not be the result of me. If it is said that both you and I are on some basis of manifestation, initially neither of us is observed. Then when I am observed, you are subsequently observed, or both you and I are on some basis of observation, initially without realizing me, and not observed. Afterwards, if you are not realized, then this establishment of you being my result would be established, but sometimes seeing me and sometimes not seeing me is not established, because I am very hidden, so I am not observed by valid cognition. The second case is, if life etc. are excluded only from the opposite side of proving that the living body has self, then what is its opposite side? Is it a vase etc.? I, this is the subject, it is certain that it exists in the living body and does not exist in the vase etc., from where do you ascertain this? This is not established, because it is the nature of not being seen on any other basis. If you admit, vase etc., this is the subject, you do not have self, how is the pervasion of the opposite of being pervaded by no life established by valid cognition? This is not established, because you do not have the opposite of self known by valid cognition. The previous inference has pervasion, because by seeing life etc. on some bases, it can be realized that it exists in the living body and does not exist in the vase etc. If so, if I am also seen on some bases, then it can be realized that it exists in the living body and does not exist in the vase etc., otherwise it is not. The third part has three points: showing that the inference has no harm. Refuting the argument that there is harm. Establishing the argument that there is no harm. The first point is: the living body, this is the subject, there is no life etc., because there is no self, like a vase. If it is said: life etc., this is the subject, because I am the cause of you, so if there is no self in the living body, then you should not exist.

The proposition is unreasonable. Because if any of your causes, such as wisdom and effort, do not exist, just as life etc. are not seen on a pot, if it is admitted that these causes do not exist in a living body, then it is reasonable to conclude that you do not exist in a living body. Because I am not your cause. The second point is: if things without self are only slightly similar because life etc. are invisible. If because the living body is different from pots etc., but has life etc., thereby inferring that I exist, then why can't it be inferred that pots etc. have self? It should be inferred as having self. Because the living body with self and measurability itself are similar. If because it is not desired that pots etc. ultimately be established as having self, so it is not having self, then things like pots, etc., should be considered as having self, which is reasonable. Because through the reason of being slightly similar to having self, it is established as having self through valid cognition. Pervasion: Because being established through valid cognition in this way is the reason for all such views. Because if there is no establishment through valid cognition, then who can distinguish between things and non-things? Cannot. The third point is: Because what cause is missing? If because of what is missing, life etc. disappear, then what is the cause of life etc.? Breathing and opening and closing eyes, etc., and exhaling and inhaling, etc. are not born from me, but from memory, desire, bodily ability, wisdom, and effort, etc. These things like memory and desire are also not born from me, but from objects, senses, and previous wisdom, and objects, senses, and wisdom also depend on each other, arising from their own similar previous kind. Therefore, this entity of the nature of life etc. arises from wisdom, body, and effort, etc. It is not born from me, because it depends on its own causes, namely wisdom, body, and effort, etc., and changes accordingly, but does not change with me. Pervasion: If it is thought that the self other than that which changes accordingly is also a cause, then other causes of life etc. are also needed, which would become endless. Second
