Because it is the fault of 'ga'. It is pervasive, the later branch, whatever fault depends on the sign and example, is the fault related to the sign example itself and what follows it, because that is what was said above. Second, there are two ways in which that method is established as a fault of negating distinctions, etc.: the former shows the way of establishment in a concise way, the latter is to explain the example that serves as the signifier. First, the teacher shows that the elimination of negating the nature of the dharma by means of four examples such as 'sound is not audible' is a side fault, this is the subject. The distinctions of the dharma that has become a part of what is to be established, and the distinctions of the subject, and the elimination of harming the nature of the subject itself, etc., are shown as side faults, because all that is eliminated by the measure of the subject is shown as side faults. Here, from the point of view of composition, the distinction of the subject is mentioned first and adorned, although the order is considered to be so, in the 'Commentary on the Root Text' and the 'Heavenly Commentary', the three examples of first mentioning the harm to the distinction of the dharma are, in order, that the possessor of limbs is different from the limbs, etc., that the limbs are different from the possessor of limbs, etc., and that the assertion that substance exists can be established. The negation of those is also said in the 'Commentary on the Root Text', the possessor of limbs is not different from the limbs, because it does not hold the distinction of the lower part. The limbs are not different from the possessor of limbs, because it would become non-manifest. Substance is not existent, because qualities and substances become substance and non-substance. Here, from 'substance with meaning' to 'because it exists', after showing the example of the way of harming the first assertion, it should be known that the two lines of words such as 'as said' imply that the latter two should be understood. Second, there are three: explaining the need to show the example, the actual example of having necessity, the way in which that example represents the latter. First, there are three side faults such as eliminating the distinction of the dharma, etc., among them, the meaning of the example of harming the distinction of the dharma is just stating the aspect, this is the subject. There is a need, because the meaning of those three is for the sake of showing.

So it is. The second has two parts: explaining how to refute through inference, and explaining how to refute through admissions, etc. The first has four parts: explaining the intention of the proposition to be refuted, showing the reasoning that refutes it, refuting other answers that are not contradictory, and establishing that other things are also refuted by that method. The first is: the subject, the Vaisheshika, the meaning of having parts, that is, the possessor of parts has qualities such as weight that are not present in its own parts, has actions such as going downwards, and the cause of the aggregation of these is the characteristic of a substance complete with three qualities, which relies on what is seen by direct perception, that is, something that can appear, thus it is posited as a substance different from its own parts. Whatever posits the possessor of parts as different from the parts, is not seen by direct perception, that is, positing the invisible possessor of parts as different from the parts, because there is no need for the previous opponent's intention to be established by that proposition, and there is no need for the subsequent opponent's intention to be established by positing the possessor of parts, which is not characterized by the three qualities, as different from the parts. The reason is also not established, because having seen that atoms, etc., which are not seen by direct perception, do not have results such as obstruction, etc., in order to establish obstruction, etc., one wants to establish the possessor of parts as different from the parts. The latter is not established, because if one establishes that which is not characterized by the three qualities, the possessor of parts is only different from the parts, then establishing it is the same as establishing what is already established for the subsequent opponent, the Buddha. The second is, if one makes a consequence argument here on the meaning of the self-nature stated by the teacher, saying that he does not hold the difference of the scale being low, then if this possessor of parts has the quality of being heavier than the weight of the parts, and has the action of going downwards as its result, then when one of the two sets of ten equal-weight clay balls is mixed and weighed on a scale, the subject, compared to the set of ten clay balls that are weighed without being mixed, the head of the scale should be lower, because the set of ten clay balls that are weighed without being mixed is equal in weight to the parts, and the weight of the possessor of parts and the action of going downwards as its result are superior. Here, the excess weight and the down
