Now, this would harm those vows that prevent what can be said, because any opposite of what cannot be said has been established with reliable evidence. Fourth, even though there is no sound of the moon, etc., in a vase, etc., the vase, etc., as the subject, the sound of the moon, etc., is all related, that is, it can be used, because all arbitrary sounds can be applied to all things, and this is established by its own power. Therefore, the Hetubindu (Drop of Reasoning) as the subject, the sound of the moon, etc., can be used for the vase, etc., and this is said to be established, because it is said, "Because it is not common to anything." This is the explanation of the Hetubindu. Fifth, if, other than that, all things cannot be expressed by arbitrary sounds, and this harms what can be said, then, the one with a rabbit (moon) as the subject, if you prevent expressing it with the sound of the moon, then it will be prevented from inference, because the meaning of the sound cannot be expressed by you with the sound of the moon, and there is no application of sense perception to establish it. It cannot be asserted, because the one with a rabbit can be expressed with the sound of the moon, and the reason that is stated here as a harm-doer exists, and it has been established that it will not become a common point between the argument and the similar example. As it is said in the Hetubindu: "Therefore, the reason for harm is not common, because it has not been established that it is not the moon for anything." Because the Svabhāva-hetu (reason of own-being) is spoken. If it is said that even if existence does not follow, other reasons do follow, then, in establishing that the one with a rabbit cannot be expressed by arbitrary sounds such as the moon, the reason exists, but there is no following in the example. As the teacher said, the example as the subject, from you, it is established that the one with a rabbit cannot be expressed by the sound of the moon, and the sign of existence that pervades all things does not follow in the example, and by realizing that, no matter what meaning is prevented from being expressed by any arbitrary sound, all the signs that are stated are not common in the example, therefore there is no inference, and if it is realized in this way, then it is considered to have a result or purpose, because you are for the purpose of knowing that all the reasons that prevent expressing all meanings with arbitrary sounds are not common, so the teacher spoke this example.

Secondly, the second point is: Although it seems that all things can be spoken of, why is it said, "The fame arising from sound"? If someone asks this. The reason why it is said that things can be spoken of, the teacher says "The fame arising from sound," is because there is a reason. Because the application of arbitrary sounds to things is dependent on convention, and convention is only dependent on the intention to speak. Therefore, in order to understand that all arbitrary sounds such as "moon" can express things, there is nothing that is not established in any sense, so it is said. This is the explanation method of Pramāṇavārttika and Tattvasamgraha. Therefore, what is excluded by things that contradict the fame arising from sound is not unreasonable either. This statement shows that through the inference entered by the power of things, in the way of proof, when measuring the opposite of the measurable meaning, it will not mistakenly think that there is no valid cognition. Because the fame that arises only from intention, not entered by the power of things, also shows that there is no competing valid cognition, so it infers and shows in this way. The second explanation method is established by distinguishing the objects, there are three points: the true way of establishing the distinction of objects; refuting the examination of this by others; examining the intention of the teacher himself. The first point is: Because there is no commonality in anything, etc., the meaning of the quotation is to say that there is no harm and competition for the inference of fame. Or, this quotation shows that the worldly expression "the moon with a rabbit" is unspeakable, and there is no inference of the power of things, because the object of the inference of the power of things is things, and the unspeakable is fiction. Here, the previous people said, "There is no inference to prove that the word 'moon with a rabbit' can be spoken of," and "There is no inference to prove speakable things," and "There is an inference for proving the speakability of the power of things," etc., these are not the teacher's intention. Because no matter how the scriptures such as "Because there is no commonality in anything" are explained, it must be linked to the meaning that it is conventionally believed that the word "moon with a rabbit" is unspeakable, and there is no inference. Therefore, the first explanation method believes that for unspeakable things, there is no inference of fame.
