Third, it is not good to say "explanation," because in the speech of proof, what is to be understood is like "sound is impermanent," which is the opposite of the basis of what is to be established. Although it can be understood through the power of speech and does not need to be explained, it is explained to eliminate confusion about the definition of what is to be established. The explanation here and what is understood through the power of speech are not the same. Because, as it is said in the scripture: The speech of proof has the meaning of understanding, but the definition is explained to eliminate confusion. For example, the valid cognition itself knows its own nature, understands from itself, and the part that does not deceive understands from terminology, but in order to eliminate confusion about the definition of valid cognition, the treatise showing the definition of valid cognition is taught, just like this. It is also inappropriate to say that "the actual object of expression is the reason," because here the reason refers to the nine reasons that have the property of the subject, and the actual object of expression in the speech of proof is only two reasons, and the other seven are only seemingly so. So, what should it be like? There are three points to this: The main thing to be said is the speech of proof, the thing to be established is explained to eliminate confusion, and the reason is explained to understand the way of expression. The first point has two points: explaining the necessity of saying "I see," and explaining the necessity of saying "meaning." The first point has three points: explaining the distinction of what I see, proving the meaning of the distinction with reason, and avoiding being the same as the refutation speech. The first point is: In the Pramana Sutra, it says: Inferring for the benefit of others clearly shows the meaning seen by oneself. The first sentence expresses the thing to be expressed, and the second sentence expresses the definition. What one sees oneself refers to what the previous debater saw himself. Meaning refers to the fact that the correct reason has three modes. Clearly showing means that there is no fault of increase or decrease in the way of expression. So, what is the necessity of saying "what one sees oneself"? In short, it is necessary to say the sentence "what I see," because some people, namely the Samkhya school, say: Lojde (Tibetan: བློ་བདེ་) is a dharma, without consciousness, because it is a dharma of arising and ceasing. When this is established in front of Buddhists, the property of this reason is not seen by the previous debater himself, but other Buddhists only see it from the scriptures, and Lojde is the establisher of no consciousness, because it is to show the thing to be established to the debater for the sake of others, so the debate of reason is established.

Because it is not established for the purpose of guiding. It is to dispel such wrong discriminations. The second aspect has two parts: refuting the establishment of arising and ceasing from the scriptures; refuting the establishment of mindlessness from arising and ceasing. The first aspect has three parts: scripture is not a valid means of cognition in the realm of things; because it is not a valid means of cognition, it cannot establish what is to be established; refuting that it is established as a valid means of cognition for the opponent himself. The first is: the scriptural statement, the subject, it is not established that the wisdom arising from you is arising and ceasing, because you are not considered to be a valid means of establishing in the realm of inference following the power of things, because when the inference following the power of things has fully investigated your meaning and purified it with reason, it is necessary to fully accept other objects of measurement as the establisher. Even when purified by reason, that scripture, the subject, it is not established that the wisdom arising from you is arising and ceasing, because in that realm where you are established as the establisher, inference following the power of things will not intervene. The second is: when establishing wisdom as mindless, the subject, the Buddha's scripture is not a valid means of cognition, because for the opponent who intends to harm the Buddha's scripture, it is reasonable to state that wisdom, which contradicts the Buddha's scripture, is the establisher of mindlessness. If you accept, the Buddha's scripture, the subject, if it is established by it, then it is impossible for all reasons to be established, because it is merely a non-valid scripture, therefore, because of that reason. The third is: if you say that even if that scripture cannot be established as a reason in meaning, but because of possessing that scripture, for the opponent Buddha, that scripture is established as a reason. Then, the scripture that shows wisdom as arising and ceasing, the subject, merely because of the reason of possessing the Buddha, from where is it determined which Buddha's scripture it is? Because none of the relationships of the Buddha and the self, the one born from that, are established. Furthermore, Buddha, the subject, how is the Buddha's scripture established as a valid means of cognition for you? Because in your mind, the Buddha's scripture has been harmed by the valid means of cognition. The reason is accepted. And that, the subject, accepting what contradicts the Buddha's scripture, then how can the Buddha's scripture itself be established?
