Or, is it merely recognizing one aspect of blue, etc., without recognizing the aspect of blue cognition that appears in the consciousness experiencing blue cognition? Or, is it merely recognizing one experience, namely blue cognition, while the experience appearing as blue is because the experience of the object of experience does not recognize that something other than blue cognition appears as blue cognition? For self-awareness, there is no such fault, because it has been established that the form of the object and the form of the experience are completely identical. Second, the subsequent consciousness does not transfer to the object, which is divided into two points: implicitly stating the reason of infinity, and directly revealing the reason of non-transfer. The first point is: Dignāga argues that if one merely establishes the experiencer by the mark of memory that the prior and subsequent consciousnesses are experienced by others, then it is establishing what has already been established. In response to this, if consciousness is experienced by others, then it will be infinite, and there will also be memory, and likewise, it will not transfer to other objects, because it can also be seen. Of the two reasons mentioned here, the first is implicit, that is, if one thinks that even without self-awareness of blue cognition, etc., the subsequent consciousness will be experienced by others, then the subsequent consciousness, as the subject of the proposition, will not be remembered later, because it has not been experienced. This is impossible to accept, because one can see memories such as "My consciousness was like this." If the reason of not having been experienced is not established, then by whom is the subsequent consciousness experienced? If it is said that it is also experienced by other subsequent consciousnesses that follow it, then the consciousness that manifests objects, as the subject of the proposition, will become an infinite experiencer, because you (referring to the other party's consciousness) are the subsequent consciousness, and it must also be experienced by other subsequent consciousnesses. The second point is divided into two parts: stating the inference, and refuting the defense. The first point is: In this way, let us put aside for a moment the fault mentioned by the teacher that one will not transfer to other objects through memory, and to show that one will not transfer to other forms, the question is asked: What is the direct cause of the prior and prior consciousnesses, that is, the subsequent consciousnesses that are connected one after another in a stream of consciousness? If it is said that it is the prior consciousness itself, then the subsequent consciousness that manifests objects, as the subject of the proposition, will not transfer from the prior consciousness to other objects, such as form, that is, it will not apprehend.

若谓:因为前识是其自所取义故。成立周遍是,以外境显现的后识,是所立。由于自身邻近,即是实际生起作用的前识,若不执持彼等,则如何能执持他境色等,定不能执持。因为前识即是成为自所取之相,即是所取境之故。第二有四:破除外境的障碍而转为对境;破除前识的能力已尽而转为对境;破除一识知义而执持二者;破除转时后者无有领受者。第一是:若谓外境邻近时,彼以后的识阻碍了前识的执持,故以后识转为对境耶?前识是所立。以后识执持你彼等时,其他外在的支分色等,以何阻碍而转,定不转。因为你确定是缘于自我的后识,实际生起的自性之内的支分之故。因此,前识是所立。外境即使邻近,以后识执持你,也不能障碍,若能障碍,则外境色等邻近时,任何士夫也不应领受前识,有此过失之故。又,士夫是所立。不可能领受前识,因为外境非邻近之时,任何情况也不存在,因此之故。若许,则士夫是所立。也不应有前识的忆念,因为忆念前识的根本,领受前识是不存在的缘故。若许,则因此彼等存在之许,啊啦,真美妙啊,如是观察。又,根识有外境邻近,故彼阻碍而转为对境的怀疑可能产生,然过去未来等任何分别念,是所立。不可能运用外境,因为没有转为对境之因故,因为自境之义邻近是不存在的缘故。第二有四:前识的能力已尽则无有后识;破除虽是生起作用者然非所取境;破除取的能力已尽然有生起作用的能力;破除一者有多作用。第一有三:陈述所许;

If it is said: Because the previous consciousness is its own object of apprehension. Establishing pervasion is, the subsequent consciousness appearing to external objects, is the subject. Because of its own proximity, that is, the actual generating previous consciousness, if it does not hold onto those, then how can it hold onto other objects such as form, it will definitely not hold onto them. Because the previous consciousness itself becomes the characteristic of what is apprehended, that is, the object of apprehension. The second has four: Refuting the obstacle of external objects to turn to the object; Refuting the exhaustion of the previous consciousness's ability to turn to the object; Refuting one consciousness knowing the meaning and holding both; Refuting that the latter has no receiver at the time of turning. The first is: If it is said that when the external object is near, it obstructs the holding of the previous consciousness by the subsequent consciousness, so the subsequent consciousness turns to the object? The previous consciousness is the subject. When the subsequent consciousness holds onto you and those, what other external limbs such as form will obstruct and turn, it will definitely not turn. Because you are definitely a part of the nature of the subsequent consciousness that arises from self-awareness. Therefore, the previous consciousness is the subject. Even if the external object is near, the subsequent consciousness holding onto you cannot obstruct it, if it can obstruct it, then when external objects such as form are near, no person should receive the previous consciousness, because there is this fault. Also, the person is the subject. It is impossible to receive the previous consciousness, because there is no situation where the external object is not near, therefore. If it is accepted, then the person is the subject. There should also be no memory of the previous consciousness, because the root of remembering the previous consciousness, receiving the previous consciousness, does not exist. If it is accepted, then therefore the acceptance of their existence, ah, how beautiful, thus observe. Also, the root consciousness has the proximity of external objects, so the doubt of it obstructing and turning to the object may arise, but any conceptual thought such as past and future, is the subject. It is impossible to use external objects, because there is no cause to turn to the object, because the meaning of one's own object being near does not exist. The second has four: If the ability of the previous consciousness is exhausted, then there is no subsequent consciousness; Refuting that although it is a generator, it is not an object of apprehension; Refuting that although the ability to apprehend is exhausted, there is the ability to generate; Refuting that one has multiple functions. The first has three: Stating the acceptance;
