Proponent, you establish the reason for establishing the meaning, but in no way can you be established by valid cognition, because you are not established by valid cognition, and the meaning itself cannot be completely established by valid cognition. Second, if one's own mind is not established by direct perception, then not only can one not understand one's own mind, but others cannot understand it either. Thus, the subject, a person, cannot infer the mind in the continuum of others from the gestures of body and speech, because there is no seeing that the gestures of body and speech are related to the mind in my continuum. The pervasion is established, because one directly perceives the mind in one's own continuum, and sees that language and body movements arise from the mind, and then one can infer that others have minds from the words of body and speech, otherwise it is not so. Second, refuting the understanding of the mind of thought from reasoning, the subject is the understanding of the mind of thought, you use your own object of apprehension as the reason, you cannot become inference, because in establishing you, your own object of apprehension as the reason of self-character is completely established, that is, the certainty of existence is not established. Fourth, refuting that the experiencer is experienced by others, and establishing it has two aspects: If both are not self-illuminating, then they are neither the object of illumination nor the illuminator. The former is self-illuminating, so the latter does not need to illuminate. First, if it is said that the mind is not self-illuminating, so it needs to be illuminated by other illuminators, according to your view, how can the mind be completely illuminated by other minds? If it is said that the latter mind illuminates the former mind because the appearance of the latter mind arises from the former mind, then, the subject is the former and latter minds, are they the object of illumination or the illuminator? It is unreasonable, because the two are the same in the nature of not being illuminating. If there is no self-awareness, and the mind itself is not illuminating, then how can objects, vases, etc., be illuminating? It is unreasonable, if it is said that the illuminating vases, etc., on the mind are illuminating because they arise as the nature of illuminating, it is unreasonable, because you only establish that for the knowledge of self-illuminating, your nature, that is, the appearance, is illuminated through the way of transformation. The subject is the mind, it is completely self-illuminating, that is, it arises as the nature of illuminating, because the appearance of illuminating on itself is also its nature. In this way, the appearance of the former mind arises on the latter mind, so the latter mind can illuminate the former mind.

If you want to refute now, then the later consciousness is the subject, becoming able to cognize itself, because when its own form arises as an object, it is clear to itself. If the later consciousness is not self-aware, then the object is also the subject, which will become able to clarify the previous consciousness, because the later consciousness, which is not self-aware, is the clarifier of the previous consciousness, how can the later consciousness and it be unclear together and have the same nature? Therefore, according to our view, consciousness is the subject, from the perspective of arising as the nature of clarity itself, it is extremely clear, and it is not another object to be clarified, because if it is not self-aware, it would be too much. Other dharmas are the subject, even if they are not self-aware, the term "extremely clear" can be used, because in that consciousness, your nature, that is, the image transforms, your image is clear in the consciousness, therefore it is clear. The second point is that other previous consciousnesses are the subject, even if the later consciousness arises similarly to you, that later consciousness does not want to act extremely clearly, because it is extremely clear itself. So, how does the consciousness that arises similarly to the object clarify the object? The consciousness that is similar to the object is the subject, it does not take the object itself as the nature of clarity, but because the nature of that object, that is, the image appears, it is merely established as the object acting extremely clearly. If it is self-illuminating, then there is no object to be illuminated and illuminator? The two consciousnesses, previous and later, are the subject, there is no object to be illuminated and illuminator, because they are the same in self-illumination. For example, like two lamps. The object and consciousness are both the subject, they can become the object to be illuminated and illuminator, because any one is not self-illuminating, and the other is self-illuminating, for example, candles and vases, etc., are also in order, one is clear and the other is unclear, relying on this, the vase as the object to be illuminated, the candle as the nature of the illuminator, the words are extremely widespread in the world. Like you, the Vaisheshika school who says that consciousness is not manifest, even the consciousness that holds forms, etc., is the subject, when you see forms, etc., in addition to forms, etc., you will definitely see, that is, experience your own nature, because you will recall that I saw forms, etc. This is pervasive, if you do not experience consciousness yourself, only have the object and the sense power, then this consciousness says that it saw this object.
