If one considers the distinction of appearance as a sign of establishing one's own mind, then whether one knows it or not is a sign. If knowing is a sign, then the appearing thing is the subject, and what is called knowing by one's own mind, how is that established, and it should not be established, because it is considered that its object-possessing consciousness is completely determined, that is, not established by valid cognition. If you admit it, then the appearing thing is the subject, how can it be the knower of consciousness in one's own mind, and it should not be the knower, because even if it is not determined as known by one's own mind. The pervasion is admitted. The appearing thing known by one's own mind is not a sign, but seeing, that is, the appearing thing not seen by one's own mind, is it a sign of establishing consciousness in one's own mind? If so, then the appearing thing seen by others is the subject, and one should understand one's own mind from you, because the distinction of appearance not seen by oneself is also present in you. The sign is established, because the appearing thing seen by others is also merely an appearing thing that one has never seen at any time. Third, it is too much to infer one's own mind from an independent thing-dharma, therefore, from independent thing-dharmas such as vases, etc., it is the subject, and one cannot infer the consciousness in one's own mind, because it is something that has no relation or connection to the dharma of one's own mind. The third has two parts: a collection of causes that are the same is not a sign, and a collection of causes that are different is not a sign. First, the dharma of things is not a sign of establishing consciousness, but the dharma of one's own consciousness is a sign? If one thinks so, the sign of establishing consciousness, if the dharma of consciousness is established by direct perception, then it can become a sign, but if it is not established, then it cannot become a sign, so it must be established by direct perception, and in this way, whatever is established by direct perception, the dharma of one's own consciousness is the subject, what is different from one's own mind, and it should be no different, because what is different from one's own mind is not established by valid cognition. If you admit it, it is not established by valid cognition like one's own mind, so it cannot become a sign. Furthermore, is the dharma that is considered to be a sign of consciousness produced from the collection of causes of consciousness itself, or from a different collection of causes? If it is like the first case, then the dharma of consciousness is the subject, from what is it different from consciousness, and it should be consciousness itself, because consciousness and the collection of causes are the same and produced from one. If you admit it, then it is also not established by valid cognition, so it cannot become a sign.

It is not a sign. Secondly, if the dharma of mind arises from other aggregates of causes, then that mind also becomes the subject. Because it possesses delusion about the mind, it is impossible to establish the mind. Because it has no connection with the mind. If it is not established, then it must be admitted as a result. Then, the five objects such as form, and the senses and the object, are all minds. Other than these, the result of that mind is another subject. It is proximate, not existence, because it is apparent but not observed. Among these, the two, sense and mind, are the subject. It is not a sign of establishing the mind. Because it transcends the senses, if the mind is not established by valid cognition, then it will not be established by valid cognition either. Among the five objects, form is the subject. It is not the result of the form-perceiving mind. Because whatever is born from the visual mind, and elsewhere, that is, separated from the possibility of arising from elsewhere, none of them can be cognized by valid cognition. If that is the case, then whatever is considered as a sign of establishing the mind, that is the subject. To be called a sign of establishing the mind is arbitrary, because it is not known by valid cognition. The third part is divided into two points: the mind of one's own continuum cannot be established, and the mind of another's continuum cannot be established. The first point is: although that is the case, there is no sign of establishing the mind in the continuum. Even if we assume there is a sign, then that subject which is considered as a sign of the mind. How can you recognize the mind in your own continuum from it? Because the sign of establishing the mind in one's own continuum is not correct. Because the connection between one's own continuum's mind and simultaneity is not seen by valid cognition, because one's own continuum's mind is not established by valid cognition anywhere. The former has pervasiveness, because the correct sign is that the dharma not seen in its own place of connection is not clarifying on its own subject, that is, not the comprehender. If, from the sign of establishing the mind itself, before the mind is established in oneself, the mind of others is already established, and there the connection between the sign and the mind is certain. Afterwards, if one merely says that one infers the mind in one's own continuum by that sign, then that subject which establishes one's own mind. The establisher of your example will become endless, because your example needs a sign to establish the mind of oneself and others, and for that example, another example needs to be established by a sign. Therefore, dharma is not a sign of mind. That mind is
