Yoga direct perception is so because it is the mind that clearly perceives the true meaning through the power of meditating on the true meaning. The second has four parts: establishing that clear appearance arises from habituation; establishing non-conceptuality through clear appearance; there is also clear appearance in what is not true; and explaining by distinguishing whether it is valid or not. First, the mind that meditates on the four noble truths, the dharma nature, when habituation reaches its limit, the meaning of what is habituated appears clearly, because when habituation reaches its limit, the net of conceptualization is completely removed from the meaning of what is habituated. For example, lust, fear, and sorrow are deceptive, that is, relying on the deception of dreams of habitual thieves, etc., by the power of habituation, as if dwelling in front, even the objects of lust, etc., which are not truly existent, are clearly seen. Second, if clear appearance is achieved through the power of meditation, how is it non-conceptual? Yoga direct perception, the dharma nature, is non-conceptual with respect to the true meaning, because that true meaning appears clearly. It is pervasive, because the mind that is related to conceptualization is not one in which the meaning that it conceptualizes appears clearly. If it is said that there is also clear appearance in conceptualization, because the consciousness in dreams is conceptual but its own object appears clearly. The conceptualization of memory in dreams, the dharma nature, the object that it conceptualizes does not appear clearly, because when the clear appearance in relation to that object is deceptive and does not have meaning in such a meaning, it is remembered. Third, if it is said that all habituation produces clear appearance, does your yoga direct perception contradict the clear appearance of the true meaning? Clear appearance also arises from meditating on what is not true, such as impure things like skeletons, and decaying earth and water, etc., which are not true, are also repeatedly meditated on, so the consciousness that is transformed, that is, generated, is seen by valid cognition as non-conceptual and clearly appearing. Therefore, whatever mind is extremely habituated to the true meaning, such as selflessness, and the non-true meaning, such as decaying earth, etc., the dharma nature, when meditation is complete, the meaning of what is meditated on is clear.

Appearance, and the wisdom of non-discrimination arising therefrom as a result, because the stable basis of habituation naturally becomes special, and the object of meditation is the wisdom of meditation. The fourth is that from habituation with correct and incorrect objects arises clear appearance and non-discrimination, regarding this, as explained in the previous second chapter, the wisdom of clear appearance arising from meditating on the reality of the four noble truths as they are, is the subject. It is considered to be direct perception, because it is knowledge that is non-discriminating and non-deceptive with respect to the correct meaning. The remaining samadhi of earth and so on, is the subject. Although non-discriminating, it is not yogic direct perception, because it is close to being corrupted, that is, it is mistaken. The third is, in the sutra it says: Discrimination is also considered self-awareness. It is not in the meaning because it is discrimination. Explaining this meaning, if all four direct perceptions are non-discriminating, then, is it possible for discrimination itself to become any of the four direct perceptions? If it is possible, it contradicts the statement that all four are non-discriminating. If it is not possible, it contradicts the statement that attachment and so on are self-awareness. If asked in this way, then, discrimination can also become self-aware direct perception in its own nature, but that is not discrimination. Because for the object that has become discrimination, there is no becoming direct perception, so it is not contradictory. Thus, any knowledge, is the subject. For any object that becomes grasping sound and meaning, it is not direct perception for that object, because for any object that becomes grasping sound and meaning, it is discrimination for that object. Also, that is the subject. It is non-discriminating with respect to its own nature, because it is not grasping sound and meaning with respect to its own nature, because its own nature is not sound and meaning, that is, it is not the real object of sound. Therefore, all discriminating and non-discriminating knowledge, is the subject. It is direct perception with respect to its own nature, because it is non-discriminating and non-erroneous knowledge with respect to its own nature. Second, in order to understand without error, explaining the semblance of direct perception, the sutra says: Mistaken and conventional knowledge, and inference arising from inference. Memory and manifest desire are called, semblance of direct perception together with cataracts. Thus it is said, mistake is like the discrimination of grasping a mirage as water. Conventional knowledge is like the substance, number, action, and generality of a vase.
