It is not lost and suitable, and if there are minds that contemplate like self-nature, then you are seen to arise from that. The consciousness of the mind root is also similar in that it arises from those three conditions. Third, if the two arise from three conditions, it is not established that they arise from the same cause. Because pleasure and pain arise as matter from the actions of dharma and non-dharma, and consciousness arises as knowledge from action. If you say that, then the environment of the root consciousness, such as pleasure, and the mind of the root are dharmas. Actually, they arise directly from the three conditions, not from other actions and karma. Because it is seen that when those three conditions exist and do not exist, you do not or will directly arise from a certain cause, therefore it does not follow action and karma. Then, there is no difference in pleasure and pain, because the three causes and conditions are the same. If you say that, the pleasure and pain of the environment of the root consciousness, although the three causes and conditions are the same, it is not contradictory to have differences such as pleasure and pain. Because the difference within the three conditions themselves, from the good and bad of the environment, etc., arises differences such as pleasure and pain. For example, when the environment and root are the same, the consciousness that arises from its internal differences will produce differences such as clarity and unclearness, doubt, etc. The second part is divided into two: one is the aspect of the two consciousnesses arising sequentially, without other experience; the other is the aspect of the two consciousnesses arising simultaneously, without other experience. The first part is divided into five: refuting simultaneous other experience; refuting subsequent other experience; refuting one holding both; refuting only holding pleasure, etc.; refuting only holding the object. First, if pleasure, etc., are not aware of themselves, but are known by other consciousnesses that rely on the same meaning as themselves, then is it known by the root consciousness that arises with itself, or by the subsequent consciousness? If it is the former, then the things such as form, because of what is close, the consciousness and pleasure, etc., arise, then that arising root consciousness is a dharma. Abandoning its own environment, such as form, how can it know pleasure, etc.? It cannot know.

Because it grasps forms, etc., as the object to be grasped. The second case is: If the sense consciousness initially grasps the object, and then the mental consciousness grasps pleasure, etc., so that the objects and pleasure, etc., of these two consciousnesses are grasped alternately, if you think so. Then, the mind that experiences pleasure, etc., its nature is, pleasure, etc., in the experiencer, should not appear as uninterrupted, which is unreasonable, because the experience of pleasure, etc., is interrupted by the grasping of forms, etc., between the before and after. Similarly, it should be applied to the grasping of forms, etc. If you think that although the experience of pleasure, etc., is interrupted, it appears uninterrupted because of the quick entry. Then, the mind that grasps forms, etc., is also the same, without experiencing pleasure, etc., why shouldn't forms, etc., appear uninterrupted? It should be so, because the quick entry is the same. The third case is: If the sense consciousness simultaneously grasps the object forms, etc., and pleasure, etc., which are simultaneous with itself. Then, the non-deceptive sense consciousness, its nature is, you should not simultaneously know both the object forms, etc., and pleasure, etc., which are simultaneous with yourself, as the object to be grasped, because if it is your object to be grasped, then it must be only forms, etc., and when you arise, it is not established that pleasure, etc., simultaneous with yourself has such a capacity, because even if pleasure, etc., simultaneous with yourself is not your cause, you arise from the object forms, etc. If you think that the aggregation of blue, etc., can produce eye consciousness, but each of blue, etc., cannot produce eye consciousness, similarly, both forms, etc., and pleasure, etc., can produce sense consciousness, but each of the two can also produce sense consciousness separately, which is not contradictory. Then, sense consciousness, its nature is, sometimes it will only grasp pleasure, etc., because solitary pleasure, etc., can be your object to be grasped, for example, sometimes among blue, etc., solitary blue is grasped by sense consciousness. This cannot be allowed, because if the object forms, etc., which are the cause of pleasure, etc., are not grasped by sense consciousness, then experiencing pleasure, etc., is unreasonable. If you think that sense consciousness does not grasp pleasure, etc., alone, but together with the object forms, etc., it also grasps pleasure itself.
