Ra. According to the second view, the time when the cause arises later is also a subject. It follows that the cause and effect are not simultaneous. Because the cause does not provide close assistance in producing the effect, because the effect has already been established. The sign is accepted. The third is that the object of apprehension of mental direct perception is a subject. How does mental direct perception apprehend without apprehending? If it is said that mental direct perception and time are different, then the Sautrāntika who understands reasoning is a subject. It is known that apprehension can be established when time is different. Because for that consciousness, the cause that can actually establish the image of its own likeness, even if the time is not simultaneous, it is known and accepted that it is the object of apprehension of that consciousness. Therefore, even if there are many causes for mental direct perception, the cause that creates the image is a subject. Its essence, that is, that image, is established as the result of mental direct perception, and it is said in the world that the result of mental direct perception also apprehends it, because the result of mental direct perception arises following your image. Third, by proving that what is experienced is consciousness, the explanation of self-awareness is divided into two: general structure and the meaning of the text. The first is that, in general, considering that all consciousness is self-awareness when it turns inward, it is said that one's own essence is the manifestation of self-awareness. The meaning of turning inward is also not that what is experienced arises first and then turns inward. If that were the case, it would become a memory consciousness of remembering the past. Therefore, all consciousness arises at the time of its own arising, merely as experience, or merely as awareness, or merely as clarity. For this reason, later there will be a memory of "my consciousness has become like this." Therefore, the key to proving self-experience or self-awareness by the sign of memory lies in the fact that when oneself arises, it is not awareness in the manner of object and subject, but arises as the essence of merely experiencing oneself. This is what is established as self-awareness. When oneself arises, if it arises as the essence of experience or awareness, considering that self-awareness is established by that alone, it is said in the Pramāṇavārttika: "Attachment, etc., self-awareness is non-conceptual." And "Conceptualization is also considered self-awareness, but in reality it is not, because it is conceptualization." Thus, it is explained from the perspective of attachment, etc., and conceptualization, which are difficult to determine as self-awareness.

That. Considering that that nature pervades all knowledge, the great master Sakya Pandita also said, "Self-awareness is just a rough matter." etc. In this treatise, the explanation from the basis of terms such as happiness is to refute the wrong views of the Samkhya school, which considers happiness etc. to be internal matter, and the Vaisheshika school, which considers happiness etc. to be external matter. Second, there are two: establishing that the experiencer is free from conceptualization; refuting that the experienced object is matter. First: The nature of happiness etc., as the subject, your self-awareness that experiences them is not a conceptualization that is related to the name and meaning of the statement, that is, holding them mixed together, because you actually do not have the ability to indicate them, because you do not rely on other followers in the object. Second, there are two: refuting that happiness etc. as internal objects are matter; refuting that happiness etc. as external objects are matter. First, there are two: stating the tenet; refuting it. First: Those happiness etc., as the subject, how can they know their own nature, that is, not know, because other external objects are also not knowable, because they are internal objects that are matter. Therefore, some, that is, the Vaisheshika school, say that the consciousness relying on one object subject is known by other entities. Second, there are three: establishing that happiness etc. are knowledge; refuting that they are experienced by other consciousnesses; showing that other objects are the two knowers. First, there are three: showing the pervasion and establishing the reason; establishing that the property and the three causes are the same; eliminating the dispute on the sameness of the three causes. First: The happiness etc. of the retinue of sense consciousness, as the subject, how is it not knowledge, that is, it is knowledge, because it is not other than the cause of sense consciousness, because it is born from the three conditions. Pervasion: All similar fruits and similar, dissimilar natures are pervaded by being produced by similar and dissimilar real causes in order. Second: If it is said that the reason born from one three conditions is not established, then the happiness etc. of the retinue of sense consciousness, as the subject, is the cause of the three conditions that are the same as the sense consciousness, because the object and the object
