Because if it is the reason of the result, then it will be reversed, because there is no error of following and reversing the result on the cause. For example, when the fire that is the cause of smoke is extinguished, the result, smoke, will also be reversed. Second, if the relationship between the dharma and the reason that can establish the proposition is not established, then the other reason is the subject. How can the power of reversing one dharma reverse? It will not reverse, because it has no relationship with the dharma. Some people do not have horses, so they do not have them. Do they not have livestock? Because there is no relationship, livestock will not reverse. Just like that which does not reverse, one reason is the subject, one reason is close, that is, because it exists, how can other dharmas be close or exist? It will not exist, because it has no relationship with the dharma. Some people have livestock, so do they also have horses? It will not exist. Third, there are three points: even without dissimilar examples, it can be understood by reason. Reason is explained to those who do not understand examples. For those who understand reason, there are two ways of stating that can be established. First, in this way, relying on the power of self-nature and relationship, following and reversing are established. In order to understand the reason's proposition, the self-nature relationship is also one entity, and there can be no other than the arising of two. The two are also expressed by examples, because in similar examples, following must be expressed, and in dissimilar examples, reversing must be expressed. So, in order to express reversing, is it necessary for dissimilar examples to be established in things? The explanation says that in order for reversing to be established, these two reasons that can be established, for the subject, the dissimilar examples in which reversing is established, do not necessarily have to be established on the basis of things. Even if there are no dissimilar examples established in things, reversing can be understood from the reason that the reason does not exist in dissimilar aspects. In the past, most dissimilar examples did not exist in things, but it was also said that those dharmas did not exist to understand. The explanation says that the power of the word "also" is very high. Between this and the following verse, in the self-commentary, there is no other connection than the word "in this way", so the meaning that the above-mentioned absence must be expressed by the following text is not understood. Second, then what is the reason? For example, a pot is made impermanent.

Its nature, and the reasoning that demonstrates fire and smoke as the cause of things in all examples, is the subject. Because the relationship of what is made and impermanent is not understood, and the causal relationship of fire and smoke, it should be shown to the opponent. Because it is reasonable for those two opponents to understand these two relationships through examples. That is, when the counter-example is not established in things, by showing the concomitance in the positive example, the reverse can be established. Third, by showing it in this way, by understanding the pervasive relationship in the positive example, for the wise who remember the universal concept, and for the wise who remember the universal concept from the beginning and do not forget, it is the subject. Subsequent inference does not depend on the statement of pervasive arguments, because subsequent inference merely states the presence of the reason in the same class. So, what should be done for the ignorant opponent who understands the pervasive relationship through examples, but cannot remember the universal concept? Because the relationship is shown by examples, if the opponent understands the relationship in the example, but does not remember the universal concept, it is the subject. You must state the pervasion for him, because you must make him recall the universal concept that he does not remember. So, is it necessary to state both pervasions? For such an opponent, it is the subject. In your presence, by truly stating any one of the two pervasions, it will cause the correct memory to arise for the other one that was not stated, because he will understand the meaning of the other through that. For these meanings, some people, interpreting the meaning of the wise as merely understanding the relationship through examples, think that it is not necessary to state the pervasion for him, which is unreasonable. Because merely understanding the relationship through examples is not the wise in this case, and in order to make him recall the universal concept, it is necessary to state the pervasion. Some people interpret the meaning of the previous treatise as, if those dharmas do not exist, then the permanent dharma does not exist, thereby understanding the meaning of the reverse from the statement. If it is understood from the statement, then how to state it? For the unwise of the two people, the way to show it is "in the example" and so on, and for the wise, the way to show it is "for the wise" and so on. It is also unreasonable to interpret the meaning of merely stating the presence in the same class as the measure of the presence in the same class. The identification of the reverse pervasive statement is interpreted as stating the subsequent pervasion in the example.
