Therefore, it is impossible to indicate one's own domain. Third, whatever mind appears as a distinct self-characteristic, it necessarily knows, otherwise it does not know. Because if there is no non-conceptual mind, then it cannot be known. This is pervasive, because the expressive sound has the nature of actually expressing the general characteristic, and the conceptualization also only clings to things that have the same meaning as that sound. If there are some non-conceptual sense consciousnesses, and they know after appearing as self-characteristics, then all other sense consciousnesses should also become non-conceptual, just like that one non-conceptual sense consciousness. Because the only non-conceptual sense consciousness has the same three causes as (other sense consciousnesses), that is, it is a real result. This is pervasive, because if the nature of the knowledge as a result is a different entity, then it must be produced from a different collection of causes. Second, the proof is to combine the implied statement to prove it: In short, the direct perception that combines names and types is free from conceptualization. Here, the commitment is directly stated, and the proof is implied. In the case of mental direct perception, when the mind is also with the object, the proof is directly stated, and the commitment is implied. In this regard, the glorious Dharmakirti stated in the case of sense direct perception that the direct statement of the commitment is to examine the object to be separated, which is conceptualization, and then prove it to be free from conceptualization, and the proof is implied, that is, to prove it to be free from conceptualization by the sign of arising from the object taken. He considered that for mental direct perception, it is enough to transfer the reasoning to solve the problem, so he did not directly state it. Therefore, from "Direct perception is free from conceptualization" to here, the meaning of conceptualization combined with names and conceptualization combined with types has been examined, and it has been proved that they are free from conceptualization. From here on, it will be shown that the proof is free from conceptualization by the sign of arising from the object taken. As it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: This reasoning has the same meaning as what was said before proving that it is free from conceptualization combined with names. Therefore, there are three points here: stating the proof, refuting the fault, and summarizing the established meaning. The first point is: the unerring eye consciousness, which has the nature of dharma, you and the conceptualization combined with names do not have a common basis, because it does not need to actually rely on external objects, but only from remembering the name of the object, the conceptualization of combining the name and meaning arises, and similarly, it does not need to rely on remembering the name of the object, but relies on its own

Because you will arise from the very power of meaning. Secondly, if the sign is not established, then the objects of sense consciousness, such as forms, etc., if they rely on their own symbolic memory, will have the power to generate self-apprehending sense consciousness. If it is not possible to generate sense consciousness without relying on one's own symbolic memory, then the object of sense consciousness, the subject, has the power to generate its own symbolic memory prior to generating self-apprehending sense consciousness, but it does not actually generate self-apprehending sense consciousness, because one's own symbolic memory is related to oneself, and self-apprehending sense consciousness arises from the direction of manifestation. For example, the sign of smoke, etc., generates inference, because it relies on the memory of the relation, it does not actually generate inference, but generates the memory of the relation before that. Furthermore, even when the three conditions of sense consciousness are complete, sometimes sense consciousness will arise, and sometimes it will not, so it must be uncertain. And, apart from the three conditions of sense consciousness being complete from symbolic memory, sense consciousness must also arise, because the symbolic memory of the object of sense consciousness actually generates sense consciousness. This is universal, because sometimes even if the three conditions are not complete, there may still be symbolic memory, and in some cases, even if the three conditions are met, the mind may be distracted to other objects, so it may not remember the symbol of the object. If sense consciousness arises from symbolic memory, but it will not actually arise from the object, because one object will gradually, first generate symbolic memory, and then generate sense consciousness, so it is the direct cause of both. If this is said, then that one object, the subject, must also generate sense consciousness at the same time as generating symbolic memory, because at the time of generating symbolic memory, it is not different from the thing that generates sense consciousness, and is constant. If the premise is not established, because the first moment of the object generates symbolic memory, and the thing that becomes the cause of sense consciousness is another moment after the first moment. Then, sense consciousness, the subject, because its own object generates itself, symbolic memory must become meaningless, because symbolic memory encompasses the first moment of the thing.
