There are three cases: surpassing the realm of the root of combination and aggregation; refuting the proof of the existence of combination and aggregation; even without combination and aggregation, the name of the thing is reasonable. The first case is: with sense consciousness as the subject, the relationship of combination and aggregation between the genus and the thing possessing the genus is considered to be non-existent, because generally there is no clinging to the relationship of combination and aggregation, because it has been admitted that combination and aggregation are beyond the senses. The second case is: if this is not established, because only the Vaiseṣika school believes that combination and aggregation are beyond the senses, while we rationalists believe that the relationship of combination and aggregation exists in the realm of the senses, because the sense consciousness sees sayings that conform to worldly concepts such as "this yarn is cloth" and "horn is a cow." Then, these sayings "this yarn is cloth" are also the subject, they are not terms that conform to worldly concepts, because they are fabricated arbitrarily by the rationalists themselves. The saying "horn is a cow" is also not a term that conforms to worldly concepts, because in the world it is said "a cow has horns," not "a horn is a cow." In any case, if it is said that the reason for "this is this" has not gone beyond the relationship of combination and aggregation, then the saying and consciousness of "a cow has horns" are the subject, they do not have the reason for the relationship of combination and aggregation, because the limbs of the thing called "cow," such as remnants, viscera, hidden places, etc., and the horn, are merely the reason for seeing them sticking together without being distinguished. In the world, it is not said "yarn is cloth," however, the fruit of those previous yarns, the term this cloth, is the subject, they do not have the reason for the relationship of combination and aggregation, because in the world it is said that the fruit produced later from the yarn gathered by the previous weaver is cloth, not that the cloth in which the relationship of combination and aggregation existing at the same time as the yarn is established. Or, when asked where those yarns are, some people will point to the current cloth and say "this is this" by fabricating the fruit cloth into the cause yarn, or, when showing the basis of the name of the cloth, that is, the cause, a yarn is separated from the cloth.

Regarding the sound that refers to what has been done as 'this,' the dharma is not the reason for having a connection of agreement and aggregation, because for the fruit cloth or the cotton of the fruit season, it will be falsely adhered to as 'this cotton is the cause' and used. Also, regarding the sound-intellect of 'a cow has horns,' the dharma is not the reason for having a connection of agreement and aggregation between horns and a cow, because the cause of the other limbs of the cow and the cause of the horns are beneficial to the arising of the horns and other limbs, or become the benefactors themselves? Because the very appearance of the horns without interruption from those limbs is taken as the reason. Third, if it is said that if there is no other meaning to be expressed as the cause of the sound-intellect entering 'this for this,' then the establishment of the name of the entity will become unreasonable. Then, regarding the name of the entity 'cow,' the dharma, even if there is no other meaning of agreement and aggregation, you have an object of entry, because there is no delusion of grasping a non-cow as a cow, but the object of entry of the consciousness that has grasping as such for what is a cow, is the usage of the convention that is the first conventional agreement of the name of the cow, which is the object of your entry. The third has four: there is no proof of the existence of other kinds; refuting the proof of wanting to exist; even if there are no other kinds, the sound-intellect is reasonable; summarizing and explaining the meaning of both refutation and proof. First, if it is said that even if other common meanings are not manifestly established for clear objects, they can be established by inference. Then, regarding the fact that there are kinds and so on that are different in meaning from clear objects, the dharma does not have a measuring inference, because there is no valid proof, reason, and example. The second has two: dispute and answer. First, it is not established, because the clear object, the dharma, has other common meanings, because it is the object of the sound-intellect that has a common object. Just as a person has a stick, the sound-intellect of 'a person has a stick' is used because there is a characteristic of another meaning. The second has three: the example is empty of the dharma to be proved; the reason enters the dissimilar side; refuting the difference between fault, entity, and sign. First, for all those who have a stick and have a hat, etc., the dharma, the term stick, etc., is merely a characteristic of having other meanings such as a stick.
