When discriminating different past sounds, the present visual consciousness that grasps form, has the property. How is it not constantly interrupted, it should be constantly interrupted. Because it is interrupted by the discriminating mind that grasps the past sound between its own before and after. The second part is divided into two parts: refuting others' answers, refuting metaphors and meanings. The first part is: If it is thought that the object of grasping, the discriminating mind on the side of seeing, has the property. Even if there is an interval, it appears without an interval, because it has power and enters quickly. Just as when a torch is quickly rotated, it is seen as a wheel because it enters quickly. The second part is divided into two parts: refuting meaning, refuting metaphor. The first part is divided into four points: entering quickly is the same for others, it should become that the senses enter simultaneously, it should become that consciousness enters simultaneously, refuting the argument that exists for both. The first point is: Even if discriminating mind and non-discriminating mind arise alternately, the direct perception of other senses, has the property. It should become apparent without interruption. Because entering quickly is the same for you too. The second point is: The auditory consciousness that hears the letter "Sa Ra", has the property. It should also become that one hears the letters of one's own place simultaneously, because entering the letters of one's own place is quick. If it is said that those enter quickly, but will not hear without interruption. In this view that many minds do not arise simultaneously, the previous attention simultaneously enters all six objects, and when the six senses such as the eye, which are gathered simultaneously with all six objects such as form, exist simultaneously, has the property. It should become that the six consciousnesses arise in sequence. Which six consciousnesses arise? Because the six consciousnesses do not arise simultaneously. The sign is accepted. If it is admitted, then, at that time, the visual consciousness that grasps form, in the interval between the previous and subsequent moments, is interrupted by the other five entering consciousnesses, but it is also a mind that enters quickly and appears as uninterrupted. The auditory consciousness that hears "Sa Ra", that consciousness that hears the letter "Sa Ra" at the end of the name, the previous and subsequent moments are mixed, that is, it knows without interruption, but admits that it appears with interruption, whoever admits this, has the property. The wise will be surprised, it is a place of ridicule, because it is admitted that it is interrupted by the five consciousnesses but appears without interruption, and that there is no interval but it appears with an interval. Because there is a fault that consciousness does not arise simultaneously, therefore it is the same person.

Regarding that lineage, the subject of dharma, due to the reason of the arising of alternating conceptual and non-conceptual thoughts, there will be no fault of the interruption of view. Because conceptual and non-conceptual wisdom will arise simultaneously. That is, the grasping eye consciousness when the six entering consciousnesses are objectifying, and the grasping eye consciousness when only the eye consciousness is objectifying, the subject of dharma, what is the difference between appearing with and without interruption? It should not be, because there is no difference in the uninterrupted appearance of one's own object. Third, for the sole mental conceptualization after the cessation of sense consciousness, the subject of dharma, it should not be that one's own object is not apprehended in a sequential manner, because the entry into one's own object is rapid. Fourth, if multiple consciousnesses arise simultaneously, in the case where the five senses and five objects are close, why is it that sometimes only one consciousness like the grasper and the grasped arises? If someone asks, in some cases, for a man who has a strong attachment to beautiful forms, even if sounds and other things are close, there is no consciousness that grasps them, what is the reason for this? The subject of dharma, it is not because multiple consciousnesses do not arise simultaneously, but because the excessive attachment to beautiful forms weakens the ability to generate other sound grasping and so on. This previously stated debate, the subject of dharma, should not be refuted solely from the perspective of multiple consciousnesses arising simultaneously, because in both the views of multiple consciousnesses arising simultaneously and sequentially, you have a place to be refuted. Second, due to the cause of a rapidly rotating torch, the sense consciousness that appears as a wheel shape, the subject of dharma, it is not because the self-nature of the torch is connected by the rapid entry of view that it appears as a wheel shape, but because after the torch and so on enter rapidly, it is the consciousness that generates the illusion of a wheel shape from the eye that has been harmed by following. Second, refuting the stated seeming proof has two parts: stating the seeming proof, and refuting the example and meaning separately. First, some commentators on the Sutra of Ornamentation, such as Vasubandhu, say that the sense consciousness of a newly initiated person, the subject of dharma, is non-conceptual, because it arises from the sense organ, and so on, it does not arise from the mind, and it enters through the mode of experience.
