If someone asks, why is it that errors are seen in some arguments, such as using barley sprouts to prove barley seeds? The answer is that the second point is divided into two parts: if errors exist, then the argument is not correct; there are no errors in correct arguments. The first point is: Materialists, the reason you think that wrong arguments that do not have three characteristics have three characteristics is because you think that arguments that do not have three characteristics are wrong. Arguments that do not have three characteristics are not correct arguments, because even if you think they have three characteristics, they actually do not. The second point is divided into two parts: there are no errors in established arguments; there are no errors in negative arguments. The first point is: For example, at certain times, smoke and animal dung cause certain things with properties to establish the concept of fire and wood, then smoke and animal dung, these things with properties, if they do not have their own cause fire or their own essence wood, your view is not valid, because they are produced from fire, or are undoubtedly the essence of wood. It is also impossible for errors to exist in other arguments that have three characteristics, because the self-nature relationship has already been established between the result and the pervaded thing and the cause and the pervader, so whatever is considered not to have errors is itself the characteristic of establishing that other arguments with three characteristics will not have errors, because it is the establisher. The second point is: If there is the essence of animal dung wood, or the cause of smoke fire, in the basis where the cause of seeing other roots etc. exists, and self-nature and cause do not appear, then, things with properties, on that basis, how can the self-nature animal dung and the result smoke etc. that have self-nature and cause exist? Because the self-nature wood and the cause fire of that basis have been negated by valid cognition. The third point is: If universal wisdom inference is not valid cognition, but only direct perception is valid cognition, then the person who can see this shore, the thing with properties, will obtain that all hidden things of oneself will not be without, because all hidden things of oneself have not yet been established by one's own direct perception. For example, like the things of the other world. If someone says that hidden things of oneself can be realized by one's own root direct perception at other times, so there is no fault of not having them. Then, the wisdom of the root direct perception of ordinary people is

Subject: It is not reasonable for you to realize all that is hidden at other times. Because it is impossible for you to enter into things like colored senses and the ability of causes to produce effects. If you say that you realize those things do not exist because of that, then the wisdom of the senses and the production of effects will become without cause. Because there are colored senses and causes do not have the ability to produce effects. Fourth, direct perception is not the only valid cognition, but valid cognition is established as two types: direct perception and inference. Because when the self-character appears, non-conceptual wisdom enters, therefore when its own nature appears, direct perception enters as the measurer. Because non-conceptual does not grasp the general characteristic, therefore inference itself enters as the measurer of the general characteristic. Second, there are two refutations of the wrong conceptions of the majority side: both wrong conceptions are stated together, and the reasons for refuting them are explained separately. The first has three parts: Grasping mixtures becomes another valid cognition. Seeing distinctions becomes another valid cognition. Therefore, it is not possible to eliminate numbers other than two. First, the logician says: Subject, valid cognition, color will not be realized as impermanent, because the object to be measured is determined as two types: self-characteristic and general characteristic. Pervasion: Because color is a self-characteristic and impermanence is a general characteristic, color impermanence is a mixture of self-characteristic and general characteristic. Therefore, the wisdom that realizes color impermanence, subject, becomes another valid cognition other than the two valid cognitions, because it is a general characteristic, it is not direct perception, and it exists without relying on a sign, so it is not inference either. Because it is a valid cognition. Second, the Mimamsaka says: Previously, fire was directly perceived in the room. Later, from the sign of smoke behind the room, grasping that the fire previously seen directly is this, is the valid cognition of seeing the difference of the previous fire. Such wisdom, subject, is another valid cognition other than the two valid cognitions, because it relies on a sign, it is not direct perception, and because it has not realized the relationship between its own basis, the sign of smoke, and the difference of fire, it is not inference either. Third, valid cognitions are established as many numbers other than the two, direct perception and inference, because the object to be measured has two types: self-characteristic and general characteristic, as well as many such as mixtures of self-characteristic and general characteristic.
