It is not to be done like that. Because the upādāna of the pot and the felt are different things, so it is only a near-establishment on other things. The third part is divided into two points: stating the desired and refuting the fault; refuting the accusation, that is, refuting the difference between the real name and the false name. The first point is: For the meaning of the past and future pots, the name "pot" with the reason of the common entity should also be applied. Otherwise, oneself is not in the entity, and the common entity is not there, so there is no reason to apply the name, which becomes a fault. If you think so, then, the entity of the pot commonality, as a dharma, does not exist in the entity now, how can it become the dharma of the past and future pots? It will not become, because it exists in the entity now. If you admit it, then, the past and future pots will not be given the name "pot", because there is no entity of the pot commonality. Admit the pervasiveness. The second point is: If you think that the name "pot" is applied to the past and future pots because of near-establishment, because the reason for applying the real name requires the common entity. Then, the entity of the pot that exists now does not exist, the past and future pots, as dharmas, you apply the name "pot" as a false name, and the difference that does not match the application of false names to felt etc. is unreasonable. What is the reason for applying the name "pot" as a false name? Felt etc. do not have it, and what is the closeness between you and it? Because there is none. In addition, thinking that the existence or non-existence of the common entity determines whether the name is a real name or a false name also contradicts the difference between the real name and the false name that is said in the world. Because in the world, from the name to the thing, the name that the mind applies without confusion is always the real name, and the name is imposed on other things for the reason that it is the same as the object to which the real name is applied in some dharmas, which is called a false name. For example, calling a lion a lion, and calling a Brahmin's son who has the same dharma as a lion in bravery etc. a lion, exists in the world. In addition, this also contradicts the difference between the real name and the false name that is said in the treatise. Because in the treatise, even if the thing does not exist in the entity, the object that beings call, that is, the arbitrary sound, that is, the object to which the name is applied, that name is the real name.

Because it is similar in some respects to the object to which the actual name refers, the name that gives rise to the idea of mistaking that the name does not refer to that object is known as a false name given to other things. Therefore, if something is the object to which a false name refers, it is not necessarily non-existent, for example, to the thing that does not have the ability to realize a foolish son, the name "childless" is given as a false name, or as the Samkhya school thinks, the old man who is able to do many things is also given the false name "chief" etc. by the followers. The third part is divided into two parts: establishing the argument and proving the pervasiveness, refuting the faults previously stated, which have been excluded by reason. The first part is: the thought that holds the unbroken vase in the present is the subject. Your appearing object is not real, because for the past broken vase, the consciousness arising from sound, its own object appears unclearly, and you also appear in the same way. The pervasiveness is: for the consciousnesses such as ear consciousness and eye consciousness that have grasped meaning, the way of appearing is the same as the thought that holds destruction, but they do not exist. The second part is: if the two minds that hold the past and present vase are the same in the way they appear in their own objects, because they only hold the general abstract concept that is independent of clarity. Then, the appearing object is not real, so the way of appearing is not the same, if you say so. Then, that is the subject. It is not reasonable, because they are not merely holding the universal concept. Because it has already been refuted that merely holding the universal concept is the same or unclear. The fourth part is divided into three parts: negating that the universal appearance is the same or different, avoiding being the same as the reverse universal, establishing the argument that is established through negation. The first part is: if the universal concept is established in meaning, then is the universal appearance the same entity or a different entity? The Samkhya school says: it is the same entity. Then, the various things are the subject. How can they become the same nature without difference in nature? It is not reasonable, because they are characterized by mutual differences such as having mind and not having mind in the ultimate truth. There is no pervasiveness, because things have two natures: a nature without difference in nature and a nature with difference in state. Again
