Then have them prostrate, and after reciting a few verses in order, such as "The great bliss of his kindness," (say) the main Victorious One is the protector of beings, striving for the benefit of saving beings, with great power dispelling all fears, we go for refuge with this as our aim. The Dharma that he has comprehended in his heart, which eliminates the fear of samsara, and also to the assembly of Bodhisattvas, we likewise go for refuge with this as our aim. (130) With this as the aim, completely frightened by fear, I offer the aim to Samantabhadra. I also offer this body as the aim to Manjushri himself. To the compassionate conduct that is not mistaken, to the protector Avalokiteshvara, I also cry out for help with a miserable voice, I beseech you to protect this sinful one. And to the noble Akashagarbha and Kshitigarbha, and to all the lords of compassion, I cry out for help from the heart, seeking refuge. Whoever sees the messengers of Yama and other hateful ones, will be frightened and scatter in all directions, I go for refuge to Vajrapani. In the past, we have transgressed your commands, but now seeing great fear, therefore I seek refuge in you, I beseech you to quickly protect us from fear. Then there is the empowerment, like entering myself, from "As the Tathagata was born" to "Please also partake of a portion," reciting in between, after such empowerment, the one with this as the aim becomes equal to the gods.
