First, the mantras and songs of each deity are sung. The left hand is placed at the navel in equipoise. The right hand holds the vajra at the heart. The left hand holds the vajra fist at the heart. The right hand makes the earth-touching mudra. From that, the right hand makes the supreme generosity mudra, and the equipoise mudra. The left hand makes the fist at the heart, and the right hand makes the refuge-granting mudra. These are the five families. From that, the two Hum (藏文：ཧཱུྃ，梵文天城体：हुं，梵文罗马拟音：huṃ，汉语字面意思：Hum) syllables embrace and are raised upwards and moved. These are the four gatekeepers. For the fortunate aeon, it is like the commitment mudra. For the self-liberated Pratyekabuddhas, the commitment mudra is divided into two. The wrathful deities (page 52) are represented by the Hum (藏文：ཧཱུྃ，梵文天城体：हुं，梵文罗马拟音：huṃ，汉语字面意思：Hum)-making mudra.
