Even if it transforms, it doesn't matter. Look again at how much is still moving, observe it. Afterwards, also recognize the follower, and do not do any negation or affirmation. Even if strong illness, suffering, and afflictions arise, observe them in the same way, and they will naturally subside. Fifteenth session. Then, the way to generate calm abiding and the introduction to it: That is, through the power of mind-holding, the mind slightly abiding and completely abiding is called calm abiding, and if it does not encounter external conditions, the body will not be called calm abiding. Calm abiding is when the mind's afflictions and discursive thoughts, clinging, and the proliferation of distractions are pacified, and in the nature of virtue, it is free from excitement and sinking, abiding single-pointedly in a clear and bright state. The previous effort and the current effort are unrelated, easy and broad, easy to cultivate. When rising from meditation, the mind does not move anywhere, turning around and staying. In all four activities, awareness is slow and harmonious, the appearance is dull and empty. If you do not deliberately focus your mind, you cannot grasp the details of the object. It feels like forgetfulness has become serious, and you see all kinds of experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-thought. Many experiences, clairvoyance, and magical powers will also appear. The ten signs and so on will also appear in various ways. If this arises in the continuum, it is the basis for generating all qualities such as insight. At this time, illnesses, pains, sufferings, and innocent accusations will also appear in various ways. No matter how good or bad dreams, clairvoyance, magical powers, experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, etc., arise, you must abandon attachment and aversion, and be in a state of non-attachment. Take it out from the ashes of diligence and meditate, the merits are inconceivable. Therefore, meditating in this way is the characteristic of calm abiding that is free from floating, scattering, and defects. Create this in the continuum and take it seriously as the core. This is the separate recognition of calm abiding. Sixteenth session. Second, observing insight and introducing insight, divided into two parts. The first part is divided into five aspects: observing from the place of abiding, observing from the place of movement, observing from the place of appearance, observing whether body and mind are one or different, and observing abiding and movement. First, the body posture remains the same. The way of looking is very important at this time, so look slightly higher than before, or look directly at the middle, without any wrinkles (23), differences, slanting, or distortions, look clearly. Briefly explain the preliminaries. Then, the mind itself.

Release it. Then, while the mind remains in a flawless, clear, and distinct state, slightly bring up mindfulness, and during a good time for practicing calm abiding, observe what the nature, color, shape, arising, ceasing, and abiding of that mind are, whether they exist or not, and how that abiding mind is inside or outside the body. Observe in what manner the color and shape exist. 1. Apart from abiding, is there anything else that can be separately known? 2. Is it like an empty mountain rock, where nothing can be identified? 3. In the state of abiding, is there a kind of awareness that cannot be expressed in words, that is unidentifiable, clear, distinct, and comfortable? 4. Is the nature of abiding also a kind of indescribable, dark awareness, where nothing can be remembered and there is no clarity? 5. Is there a bright, clear, open, and complete abiding? 6. Here, there is a flaw in the way of abiding, so it is difficult to understand. If one speaks of profound Dharma, or even if one is not born, but is bound by the eight worldly concerns, then one is deceiving oneself and being ungrateful, as hard as stone and bone, and the experience gained from the power of meditation that arises genuinely from within is not an experience and realization patched up with conceptual thoughts. 7. Rest and observe again, and be sure to establish it in the continuum, and then observe. Seventeen sessions in total. Second, observing from the perspective of movement: From the preliminary of the essential points of the body to the observation of abiding, after roughly clarifying, leave the mind relaxed in that undeniable state of abiding. Then, let a sudden thought arise or allow it to arise, and observe what the nature of that arising thought is like. In what manner does it arise in terms of color and shape (24). Observe the nature of that thought that arises, ceases, and abides, without concern. 1. Let various thoughts arise or allow them to arise, as well as thoughts of afflictions, the three poisons, etc., and observe them as before. 2. Observe what the difference is between each thought itself, the object of the arising thought, and the previous mind of thought. 3. When observing that thought, are all thoughts emptiness, free from elaboration, and free from arising and ceasing? 4. When observing it, do all the thoughts that arise disappear without a trace? 5. Do the thoughts that arise naturally liberate themselves without being identified, and are they clear, aware, and open? 6. If it is like the latter, then the basis of the previous abiding
