(1) A written record of the instructions on Mahamudra Co-emergent Union, the Lamp Illuminating the Essence of the Heart, the Nectar Essence, an Introduction to the Dharmakaya by Pointing the Finger. (2) Om Svasti Siddhi Hum. Om, may there be well-being, accomplishment, Hum.) I prostrate and take refuge in the feet of the glorious and holy Lama, inseparable from the all-pervading Lord Vajradhara, the source of all experience, realization, and qualities. Please grant your blessings. Here, in order to practice the means to attain the uncommon state of union, the Vajradhara, in one lifetime and one body, the Mahamudra Co-emergent Union, which is renowned as the uncorrupted tradition of the precious Kagyu lineage, from the essence of the minds of all Buddhas of the three times, the great Vajradhara, to Gyalwa Konchok Yenlak, the instructions passed down from ear to ear without interruption by others, with the warmth of the blessings and the breath of the Dakinis still present. There are three parts: preliminary, main practice, and concluding practice. The first part has three: common preliminary, uncommon preliminary, and special preliminary. The first is contemplating the difficulty of finding leisure and endowment, contemplating impermanence and death, contemplating the law of karma, (3) contemplating the faults of samsara. The first is: If one wants to practice a truly excellent Dharma, like pouring lion's milk into an ordinary container, the container will break and the milk will be wasted, so one needs an excellent container or support. Among all supports, the most excellent is the precious human body with leisure and endowment. Now, it is very fortunate to have obtained such a precious human body. This is also because of the power of accumulating many accumulations in the past, protecting against the ten non-virtuous deeds even at the cost of one's life, accepting the ten virtuous deeds, and creating immeasurable merit, and not obtained by chance or accidentally without cause, so it is difficult to obtain from the perspective of cause. Like throwing beans at a wall and having them stick. Or throwing a piece of wood with a single hole into the great ocean, where a turtle lives, and after hundreds of years, it barely sticks its head out and its neck fits into the hole in the wood. Or (4) like finding an Udumbara flower, it is rare, except for things that are impossible. It is also difficult to obtain from the perspective of example. The three lower realms are like the earth,

Like a speck of dust. Obtaining a human body is like a speck of dust on a fingernail. This leisure and endowment of a human body is like a tiny speck of dust. Most of the time, one engages in non-virtuous deeds, and the times when one engages in virtuous deeds are few, so one is mostly reborn in the lower realms. In general, obtaining a human body from the heavens that is capable of practicing virtue is extremely rare, and it is difficult to obtain in terms of numbers. Now that we have obtained such a body, it is difficult to obtain and easily destroyed. If this human body is wasted this time, and we are reborn in the lower realms in the next life, we will fall into a pit of no liberation. We must think like this, and not be lazy for even a moment. We must strive with fierce diligence to practice virtue, grasp the key points, and hope not to be someone who has not grasped the key points. We must make this vow, and do our best to make our mindstream compatible with the Dharma, and do our best to turn our minds towards the Dharma. One session. Second, meditating on impermanence: If you do not meditate on impermanence, your mind will not turn away from this life. If it does not turn away from this life, you will not be able to abandon the eight worldly dharmas, and therefore you will not be able to be liberated from samsara, and special realizations will not arise. Therefore, to counteract it, meditate on impermanence: The external world, first is the way it is formed, in the middle is the way it exists, and finally it is destroyed without leaving even a trace. In terms of time, it is also morning, noon, evening, etc., and it is not stable for even a moment. The climate also changes, such as winter, spring, summer, and autumn, and is unstable. Therefore, all compounded things cannot escape the nature of destruction and change. The sentient beings inside are also, from birth, to small children, to adulthood, to old age, and ultimately cannot escape death. Death is also uncertain when it will occur. There is no certainty that one will not die today or tomorrow. Even when one is alive now, there are many who are suddenly deprived of their lives and become corpses due to uncertain causes such as planets, poisons, weapons, fire, water, cliffs, etc. And no matter how long one lives, one cannot live past a hundred years. One-third of that life has already passed, and one is heading towards death. Our former lamas, khenpos, dharma friends, relatives, friends, neighbors, etc., have all died suddenly in this way, or have been tortured by illness for a long time. Experiencing the pain of illness and unimaginable suffering, even if they are afraid and terrified, they are helpless and cannot deceive death, and they die in this way. There is no chance to meet after death. Where to
