Appears. The appearance is also realized as one's own mind. The nature of mind is known as the Dharmakaya. Since the view is mostly emptiness, this appearance also dwells in the nature of emptiness, without existence or establishment, and is comfortable in emptiness. Realizing cause and effect and emptiness to a great extent is called the yoga of non-elaboration. It also has three types: small, medium, and large. The first is: Even if one only realizes that the essence of appearance, mind, and awareness is free from arising and ceasing, a slight attachment of definite understanding enters the side of emptiness, and because one is not separated from it, the distinction between experience and realization is not clearly distinguished. In the post-meditation state, when one is not caught by memory, the grasping of enemies as enemies and friends as friends does not stop, and the grasping of objects is not cut off, so whatever arises from the appearances of the six consciousnesses, one becomes attached to grasping it as good. One hates grasping it as not good. Being in a daze is ignorance, so grasping of either virtue or non-virtue arises. If one is separated from the practice of Mahamudra, it is non-virtue, and if one is not separated, it is virtue, so at this time, it is said that the unpredicted does not often arise in seeing the truth. Sleep and dreams are also mostly confused. There are slight differences in the level of virtue. End of the ninety-ninth Dharma session. The middle non-elaboration is from the previous rough experience of the mind being separated from the three states of arising, ceasing, and abiding, and from those rough stains of grasping emptiness. Free from joy or attachment, ordinary awareness becomes clear without an object. The grasping of appearance and emptiness, all afflictions and thoughts are baseless and rootless, and it is enough to recognize one's own nature in one's own place. However, since one has not yet fully integrated into the external environment, one is slightly uncomfortable with the appearance. Where did this appearance come from? Although it is emptiness, has this appearance been extinguished and not become permanently separated? There are slight hopes and doubts such as these. In the post-meditation and dream states, various kinds of confusion and non-confusion arise. That is called recognizing the post-meditation. It is to abide effortlessly in the state of recognizing equanimity. End of the eightieth Dharma session. The great non-elaboration is: Cutting off the imputation of all inner and outer dharmas, one knows appearance as one's own mind. Realizing that mind and appearance have no nature, being free from objects and targets, and being comfortably relaxed like the center of the sky. Previously, one was not comfortable with appearance, but comfortable with awareness, and practiced on awareness. Here, knowing appearance as mind, knowing mind as emptiness, with appearance

Taking the realization of emptiness as the main focus of meditation, cutting off the attachment of concepts to emptiness, because all phenomena are without inherent existence or unestablished, it is somewhat uncomfortable that the appearances remain as they are. One might think that these appearances are baseless illusions. In this case, if one meditates continuously during the day and holds onto dreams at night, one might mistake it for post-meditation wisdom, and many realizations might arise. This happens because sleep weakens mindfulness. Even when disturbed by strong external circumstances, one might slightly enter into post-meditation wisdom. Up to this point, if the arising of meditation has not become ownerless, then it will always be inseparable. Since mindfulness does not come continuously, mindfulness is important because it relies slightly on holding onto mindfulness. After equality beyond elaboration, mindfulness distinguishes. Between elaboration and samsara and nirvana, there is only mindfulness and non-mindfulness. The main point of the instruction is mindfulness. If one does not become attached to whatever appears, then even a small amount of hatred is self-empty. If one does not recognize reality and becomes attached, although it seems like there are no afflictions and no conceptual thoughts, it is ignorance. When it is not separated from recognizing reality, although it appears as afflictions continuously, there is no need to affirm or negate it. As a sign of that, the thought of seeking emptiness separately from whatever appears does not arise. After purifying conceptual thoughts, the doorway of the arising of wisdom is clear and bright. If one cannot always remain in that state, one must rely on holding onto mindfulness. It is also difficult to grasp each conceptual thought with mindfulness for a long time. Therefore, one should constantly rely on mindfulness. If one is not harmed by circumstances during the day, it is called the realization of great non-elaboration. That is, realizing that the nature of the mind is separate from arising and ceasing, seeing beyond thought. Abandoning the world, not being jealous of others, manifesting many qualities such as clairvoyance, post-meditation appearances appear as illusions, realizing the nature of the mind of enlightenment, being free from hope and doubt, cutting off the root of attachment. Cutting off the eighty-two things to be abandoned on the path of seeing, unless it is the power of aspiration, one will not return to samsara, one will not be born into existence due to karma, then it is called seeing the nature of non-elaboration, perfecting abilities, and generating qualities. The difference between one-pointedness and non-elaboration is whether or not one recognizes conceptual thoughts as the dharmakaya. Here too, one must abandon the three attachments, rely on solitary places and secluded retreats, and observe silence. The one hundred and first teaching.
