Thus it is said. Kyobpa Jigten Sumgön (འབྲི་གུང་པ།) said: All phenomena of samsara and nirvana are one's own mind, and since mind has no origin from the beginning, it is like the center of the sky. Thus it is said. Phagmo Drupa (ཕག་གྲུས།) said: The duality of body and mind is something that cannot be affirmed or negated, and a state will come about where the external object of grasping and the internal mind of grasping are perfected as inseparable. What is meant by "whatever appears arises as its own nature" is that all phenomena of appearance and sound arise as the nature of one's own mind, and it refers to something that does not go beyond that meaning. Thus it is said. The Condensed View says: Self-awareness, free from elaboration, is just that, Appearing yet empty, empty yet appearing. Therefore, appearance and emptiness are inseparable, Like the moon in water. Thus, establish the non-duality definitively. Thus it is said. The Tantra of the Ocean of Wisdom says: Body and mind are inseparable, Through the arising and ceasing of the support and the supported, Know this as the essence of all. Thus it is said. Likewise, one should understand all relative phenomena such as existence and non-existence. End of the fifty-fourth Dharma discourse. Next, the second is to introduce the mind as emptiness, that is, no matter what term is applied to the mind itself, which is naturally luminous, it is beyond the realm of mind to say that it is established as having form, color, shape, or the external and internal aspects of the body, etc., just like the sky. Since you were made to search in the context of the instructions for searching for the mind earlier, when asked how you saw the mind in terms of the three—outer, inner, and intermediate—as well as color, shape, its own nature, and the three—arising, abiding, and ceasing, etc., just as someone might say, "There is something to be seen that cannot be seen at all," it is because that which cannot be indicated or established even slightly, and which cannot be found even when searched for in the ten directions, is empty because the nature of the mind is not established. It is not that the nature is established but cannot be found. Therefore, seeing that the essence of the mind is not established anywhere is the supreme of seeing. Then, one might wonder, if it is appropriate to show from the very beginning that this mind is unseen and unseeable, what is the purpose of searching for color, etc.? This is because sentient beings, not realizing that the mind, which is without nature, is itself non-existent, have grasped as true from beginningless time the notions of "I" and "mine," and based on that, the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance arise, and they wander in the ocean of suffering of samsara, so it is for the purpose of reversing that.
