Through searching, observing, and analyzing, sever the root of samsara, which is one's own mind, and establish emptiness and selflessness, thereby certainly seeing the truth of reality without error, and ascertain that the mind has no inherent nature, thus realizing that the delusion of self-grasping in samsara is unreal. Furthermore, determine that all phenomena are emptiness, and thereby sever attachment to all worldly affairs, cutting off the root of samsara—grasping at reality. Therefore, searching for the mind is reasonable. After searching, it is found to be nothing at all; this great emptiness transcends all extremes of elaboration, surpasses the realm of speech, thought, and expression, is the emptiness of complete negation, the emptiness of the thought of "is," the temporary emptiness, not merely established through contemplation in the realm of the ultimate truth of dharmata, but rather, one must recognize the essence of the true meaning, which is the great emptiness of the primordial realm. In the past, because emptiness was not seen as emptiness, and selflessness was not seen as selflessness, one wandered in samsara, but now, through the power of the precious guru's instructions, one sees the reality of one's own primordial nature of emptiness as it is, without direct perception, and therefore, rest in that state without alteration. The fifty-fifth Dharma session, the forty-third meditation. Third, introducing emptiness as spontaneously accomplished: The mind, like the sky, while never moving from the dharmata of emptiness that pervades all places, manifests various appearances without obstruction, and no matter what form appears, at the moment of appearance, it is also great emptiness. Therefore, it is called appearance-emptiness inseparable, awareness-emptiness inseparable, clarity-emptiness inseparable, bliss-emptiness inseparable. If it is said that appearance-emptiness inseparable is not possible, and that the two must be different, because if it is not so, then it is not possible to have appearance without existence, and if it exists, it is not possible to have non-existence, why is that? Because in the phenomena of the limit of knowable existence, there is no emptiness other than appearance, and no appearance other than emptiness, because all phenomena of existence, samsara, and nirvana are also the great emptiness in which nothing is established at the moment of appearance. Without moving from that emptiness, various powers manifest without obstruction, and this spontaneously accomplished appearance-emptiness inseparable is called the emptiness that possesses all perfections, and one must not merely cling to the upper side, therefore, spontaneously accomplished.

It is necessary to realize the principle of spontaneous presence. If it is said that only the pure are called spontaneously present, and the impure appearances cannot be called spontaneously present, it is because they have fallen into the mind of clinging to good and bad, and superior and inferior, so they are impure. Therefore, just as the intention of all sutras and tantras, all phenomena included in samsara and nirvana, while not moving from emptiness itself, the power and radiance appear unceasingly, and are taught as spontaneously accomplished, so should one practice. For this reason, all that is spontaneously accomplished is ultimately pure, that is, great liberation. The fifty-sixth Dharma talk, the forty-fourth point. Fourth, introducing spontaneous self-liberation: Furthermore, the three of appearance, awareness, and emptiness, from the beginning, are the spontaneously accomplished state of luminosity and emptiness in union. All phenomena included in samsara and nirvana are of equal taste. This state of the nature of things has no faults to be removed and no qualities to be achieved. The original primordial enlightenment has no addition or subtraction, acceptance or rejection, etc. It is necessary to directly realize the non-inverted realm of ultimate truth. In this way, because there is no acceptance or rejection, removal or establishment, it is called self-liberation, not relying on other antidotes, it is great self-liberation. Because the signs of hope and fear are liberated in themselves, please manifest the essence of meaning. As it is said: What is the cause of bondage, that is the path of liberation, here there is no bondage, what is bondage is liberation. Thus, because it is the introduction of the expedient key instructions to find the supreme Buddha in one's own mind, by recognizing it without inversion, one will obtain pure vipashyana wisdom. Here, realizing the nature of vipashyana is to directly realize the state of the non-inverted ultimate truth. Merely understanding all actions as mind, or merely seeing emptiness, or merely slightly seeing the principle of union, cannot be considered seeing the true state. Therefore, these are classifications that symbolize the method of expression for fortunate individuals, and it should be known that they are spoken at the appropriate time, otherwise it is speech and thoug
