It is not like that. It is said that the practice of the Six Dharmas of Naropa must grasp the key points. When asked if some pith instructions should be kept in mind in order to practice it, the following pith instructions were given: Do not think, do not contemplate, do not remember, do not meditate, do not examine, let the mind rest in its natural state. Among them, "do not think" means do not recall the past, recalling the past is the cause of generating conceptual thoughts and the duality of subject and object. Because past events do not help in practice, do not recall the past, that is its meaning. "Do not contemplate" means do not modify the present moment, if you modify the present moment, it will disrupt the foundation of practice, disturb the samadhi, like something from the outside entering the inside, so do not add any artificial modifications, that is its meaning. "Do not remember" means do not welcome the future, if you welcome the future and expect it, you will lose your way in practice and fail to grasp the key points in time, so you must protect it like preventing a bird from flying away, that is its meaning. "Do not meditate" means do not meditate on emptiness, if you contemplate the world of container and contents as empty like a bottle filled with water, you will not be able to understand the meaning of reality, so keep the appearance in its natural state, that is its meaning. "Do not examine" means do not observe the object, if you observe the object, no matter how beautiful and perfect it is, it cannot transcend the category of name, mind, or consciousness, so do not examine the object you like, that is its meaning. "Let the mind rest in its natural state" means to rest on the reality of its nature, if you make modifications such as wanting to become better, no matter how you do it, it is in vain, so let its own nature be clear, bright, naked, clear, distinct, open, separate from all names, and not contradictory to all names, the nature of reality beyond words, let this natural state rest in the state of self-knowing and self-illuminating, do not interfere with it in any way, that is its meaning. In this way, all the methods of practicing Mahamudra are included in these six dharmas. If you grasp such key points, you will not be troubled by sudden defilements. And, the method of finding the peace of mind, first of all, the most important thing is devotion to the guru. Then, you must master the posture of the body and the way of looking well.
