First, the basis for complete training includes: Sojong, summer retreat, and dissolution. First, the meaning of Sojong is: to protect and practice the three trainings, namely, the common Sojong and the Sojong of quiescence. The former is to protect and practice the training of higher discipline, and the latter is to protect and practice the Samadhi of quiescence.

It is also acceptable. These two also fundamentally enhance the training of superior wisdom. Correspondingly, there are five kinds of Uposatha: the fourteenth Uposatha, the fifteenth Uposatha, the auspicious Uposatha, the Uposatha for averting calamities, and the Uposatha for reconciliation. The auspicious (50a) one is for eliminating the ten unacceptable things and during consecration ceremonies. The one for times of calamity is for pacifying diseases and plagues. The one for reconciliation is for pacifying disputes within the Sangha. The fourteenth and fifteenth Uposathas are held every half month, with lineage, and with the meaning of vowing to be pure. As it is said in the *Visakha*: "By Uposatha half-month after half-month, to completely purify all sins." Thus, it is necessary to practice Uposatha every half month. In the Vinaya, it is calculated by subtracting one day each month from the fifth year onwards. The time when six days are insufficient in a year is designated as the fourteenth Uposatha. This is also calculated based on the fact that there are six seasons in a year, and each season is calculated as two months. It is divided into three general seasons: winter, spring, and summer, each lasting four months. Each of these three seasons, winter, spring, and summer, is further divided into two parts, upper and lower, with the internal meaning of two months each. As it is said in the *Abhidharmakosha*: "Winter and spring and summer, half and two months have passed, if half a month remains, the wise should discard it." And in the *Visakha*: "Snow and other summer seasons, two months and four months, on the full moon, the diligent practitioners should practice the fourteenth Uposatha. Mrigashira and Jyeshtha, similarly Shravana and Dhanishta, Revati and Ashwini, these six full moons are called the fourteenth." Here, when the three constellations Chitra, Mrigashira, and Revati are full, it is the eleventh, twelfth, and first months of the Mongolian calendar, which are the early, middle, and late winter. When the three constellations Revati, Krittika, and Mrigashira are full, it is the second, third, and fourth months of the Mongolian calendar, which are the early, middle, and late spring. The three constellations Antares, Jyeshtha, and Uttara Ashadha are the fifth, sixth, and seventh months of the Mongolian calendar, which are the early, middle, and late summer. Shravana, Dhanishta, or Shatabhisha, Krittika, are the eighth, ninth, and tenth months of the Mongolian calendar, which are the early, middle, and late autumn. It is necessary to inquire about the year and to be able to establish it.
