Or to mock clearly, or to mock indirectly without speaking. Understanding the meaning results in a downfall. Regarding the precepts: Do not directly argue with someone who does not accept debate. Do not have someone who disagrees with you work for you. 3. Regarding whispering: The meaning of the words is easy to understand. If a bhikkhu does not have special necessities such as saving the lives of others, when other bhikkhus ask in a lawful manner, a bhikkhu with malicious intent, wanting to whisper, begins to speak inverted answers, and ultimately understanding the meaning results in a downfall. Not answering or saying one does not remember is a misdeed. When asked if one has seen the person to be killed, answering, "Do not ask for the time being," etc. Or thinking of the designated owner and saying that one has not seen the person to be killed, there is no downfall. Regarding the precepts: Do not sit in the four great places, and even if you sit, act as a witness who does not cause harm. 4. Regarding lodging: The basis is "again," etc. The special action is "from that," etc. The basis is that a bhikkhu, having enjoyed the lodging of the sangha, without covering it up, does not tidy it up himself, or does not have others tidy it up, but wants to discard it at will, leaving it as it is, and intending to stay there or leave. Whether or not this circumstance causes damage, if it exceeds forty-nine lodging measures, it is a downfall. For an individual, it is a misdeed. Damage is of three kinds: being blown away by the wind, being washed away by the rain, and being damaged by insects, etc. 5. Regarding bedding: The basis is "again," etc. The special action is "from that," etc. The basis is that a bhikkhu in a monastery, in a place where small creatures easily breed, lays down bedding of grass, leaves, etc. The thought and the final action are the same as before. Regarding the precepts: The grass and leaves laid down in the monastery should be discarded or turned upside down. When laying it in another's house, ask the owner before discarding it. Do not place heavy objects and wood, etc., in places where animals easily breed. Laying it in a walking place or laying it out to dry clothes, if it is not discarded, is a misdeed. 6. Regarding expulsion: The basis of the thought is "again," etc. The special action is "expel?", etc. The basis is that a bhikkhu wants to expel another bhikkhu from the monastery at will, and from that action causes harm.

Or, not for the purpose of resolving a dispute in the Sangha, but starting to expel by oneself or by appointment, if it exceeds the vicinity of the monastery and its surroundings, it is a downfall. If it is someone's monastery, or from a householder's residence, or just for the sake of laughter, or if it does not exceed the vicinity, expelling is a misdeed. 7. Overcoming later is a downfall. The basis and foundation are: Again, Bhikshu, it is said. Consciousness and action are: Knowingly. The basis is that a Bhikshu, in the monastery of the Sangha, towards a Bhikshu who entered earlier, due to incompatible motivations, the action is not out of fear, but starting to overcome later with any means of body or speech, if it is overcome, it is a downfall. 8. Uprooting the foundation. The basis is: Bhikshu, it is said. Consciousness and action are: Knowingly. The basis is that a Bhikshu, for the fault of the roof of the Sangha's monastery being broken, puts the sharp root of a legless bed or cot on it, and when the action of sitting or lying on it is completed, it is a downfall. 9. Planting. The basis of intention is: Again, Bhikshu, it is said. The basic action is: Sentient beings, it is said. The basis is that a Bhikshu, towards water and plants, etc., like sentient beings, knowing that they are sentient beings, performs actions with the intention of enjoying them for his own sake, starting by himself or by appointment, and as many sentient beings die as a result, that many downfalls are committed. 10. Building in two tiers. The permissible limit of the basis is: Bhikshu, it is said. Exceeding the limit is: Exceeding that, it is said. A Bhikshu, for a monastery that can accommodate more than four postures, on that day and on that day, and in other places, without mud, builds walls exceeding three tiers. No water holes are dug. The foundation is dug but not erected, and the upper lintel is not installed. The action is started by oneself or by appointment without the obstruction of the benefactor, and if it exceeds the number of tiers and is about to collapse quickly, it is a downfall. The third ten (the unappointed category): The summary is: Unappointed sunset, food and Dharma robes, two of each, boats of consistent meaning and two solitary places, Bhikshunis are allowed to perform. It is said. 1. Declaring without appointment. The object of the basis is: Again, it is said. The special action is: Declaring. It is said. From now on, the branches of the basis are understood through meaning.
