Beginning with the word "Oṃ." (First, in the case of pure silk cotton. The support and place are included, i.e., "again," etc. The characteristic of combination is "support," etc. That is, the support is a bhikṣu, the object is the silk cotton that is rare in that place and time. The motivation is aroused by the desire to make a mat, the combination is appointed by oneself or another, and finally, merely spreading out the silk cotton is abandonment. Second, in the case of pure black. The basis of support is included, i.e., "again," etc. The characteristic of combination is "mat," etc. That is, mixing two parts of white into naturally black wool, just like the previous branch. Third, in the case of mixing two parts. What should be learned is "bhikṣu," etc. The actual downfall is "if," etc. That is, mixing two parts of white into black, just like the previous branch. Fourth, in the case of making a second mat within six years. The time allowed to hold the mat is included, i.e., "bhikṣu," etc. The downfall beyond the time and special circumstances are included, i.e., "if," etc. That is, the support is a bhikṣu, the object is that a mat has not been made within six years (p. 29), and there is no mistaken cognition. The motivation is the desire to use it as one pleases, and finally, if using it becomes old, that is also abandonment. (Fifth, the abandonment of a span's height. (1, If a bhikṣu makes a new mat, in order to make the color of the new mat not unsightly, the old mat should be surrounded by a span's height of the Sugata. If a bhikṣu, in order to make the color of the new mat not unsightly, uses the new mat without surrounding the old mat with a span's height of the Sugata, that is an abandonment and a downfall. (Sixth, the abandonment made of fluffy wool. The amount allowed to be received is "bhikṣu," etc. The transgression of the past is "from that," etc. That is, the support is a bhikṣu, the object is the burden of wool, which is one's own, and is not actually given, the burden exceeds a distant distance, and there is no mistaken cognition. The motivation is to combine as one pleases, and if there is no one else carrying the burden of wool, then there is no downfall within three krośas. From then on, until reaching the end of one yojana, or if there is someone carrying the burden, then from the beginning, for each yojana reached, there is one downfall.

For each half (of the cloth), there is a minor offense. Other than through the miracle of clairvoyance, if one is carried into the sky, or transforms into livestock etc. to carry wool, there is a minor offense. The precept is: do not carry more than half the burden of a householder. There is no offense for hats and shoes with buckles, and lined upper garments, and carrying wool for a small reward. Seventh, regarding the prohibition of using wool for weaving. The basis and location are: Again, monks...etc. The classification of combination is: Is it used for washing? etc. That is to say, in order to make one's own blessed Dharma robe, is sheep's wool used for washing? Is it used for combing? The word "འཆག་" is interpreted as being used for weaving, similar to the case where the components of a downfall are used for washing (29b). Eighth, regarding the prohibition of possessing precious jewels. The basis is: Again...etc. The characteristic of combination is: Taking? etc. That is to say, the monk as the basis, for objects that have not been made permissible in any of the three ways, such as gold, silver, etc., which are precious jewels, that can be used for transactions such as buying and selling, that belong to oneself, that are manifestly present within reach of the hand, with undistorted awareness and the motivation to freely touch or desire to touch for one's own sake. The combination is oneself or another manifestly designated, saying "Take this, put this down," etc., the completion of touching is to be prohibited. There is no difference in touching with a stick etc. that is connected to the body. Even if it is in the share of the fathers, or even if it is a precious jewel, but because of breakage and damage it has lost its value and cannot be priced, and forged precious jewels, there is a minor offense. There is no offense for unprocessed precious jewels such as lead, copper, etc. What should be learned is: What the Buddha allowed is that needles and seals etc. are not mixed with precious jewels. Do not own bowls made of brass, copper, brick, or wood. If one does, own it with the mind of a medicine bowl. The only bowls that are permissible to own are those made of iron and earth. There are three ways to allow owning precious jewels: letting the benefactor become the owner, letting the layperson who acts as attendant or steward become the owner, and blessing with mantras, these are the three ways. For the purpose of fire and water, use fire and water glass, and for the purpose of food etc. for the road, use karṣāpaṇa (迦尔沙波纳) (30a) etc. for blessing.
