If so, it follows that it exists as a designated dharma. If not, it follows that the negation of the sign is established from its own side as a substance and an object, and exists in the knowable. The negation of the sign is a dharma of either substance or designation, because it is not a designated dharma. If the first sign is not established, it follows that the negation of the sign cannot be an object of mind. Because it does not exist in the knowable of either substance or designation. If there is no pervasion, then that kind of negation of the sign, the subject, follows that it exists in the knowable. Because it is capable of being an object of mind. If it does not pervade, if it is capable of being an object of mind, then it will be necessary to assert a superior tenet that cannot exclude what is not knowable, therefore the tenet is good. If you agree with the above, then it follows that the innate clinging to truth that grasps the negation of the sign will never arise in sentient beings. Because the negation of the sign is not capable of being an object of mind. There is no choice but to agree. In that case, all sentient beings will be liberated effortlessly, so we are very fond of this system, because now the wheel of samsara will be cut off. (281a) Therefore, the nature of the negation of the sign is not established as that and that. If it is not designated by the mind that grasps the established as that and that, then it is not established by its own nature, so that kind of negation of the sign must be completely absent in the mind, but it is not like that. You believe that the negation of the sign is not established by thought, it is just a belief, it does not exist in reality, just like in the face of the thought of grasping a spotted rope as a snake, it is not a snake but it is just designated as a snake by thought. If it is not like that, if thought does not designate a spotted rope as a snake, then the consciousness of grasping a snake on the spotted rope will not appear in the mind of a person, this is established by experience for everyone in the world, therefore all rational negation and establishment are nominally existent in this Madhyamaka system. Also, according to your view, the established of the sign will also become completely non-existent in the knowable, because if the negation is completely non-existent, the established is also equally non-existent, because all negation and establishment are dependent designations, and are not established otherwise. If you agree, you must also admit that emptiness, the ultimate truth, does not exist in the knowable, and you do not agree with that either. Therefore, the negation of the sign or correct reason is also the perfection of wisdom

This is not established by inverted conceptualization, and it is a mistaken admission of your doctrinal establishment. What is known as common knowledge is that using the sign of being produced to establish that sound is impermanent, the opposite of that sign, the object to be refuted, that sound is permanent, is also a dharma that is nominally established by inverted wisdom (281b). Although it is considered not to exist in a non-inverted realm, the world will not be harmed in the slightest by the statement of unexamined conventional terms. Therefore, even if you do not admit that the object to be refuted by the sign is nominally established, if you forcefully state it because it exists in common knowledge, then you will have a fault here. Just as for things established by conventional valid cognition, emptiness is established by merely seeking the meaning of imputation, similarly, the dharma to be refuted by the sign is also merely nominally established by conceptualization. Therefore, it is also necessary to seek the meaning of imputation to establish emptiness. If that is the case, then the object to be refuted by the sign is not the object to be refuted by the sign. Again, seeking the meaning of imputation for it and making it the object to be refuted by imputation to establish emptiness, if that is the case, then the object to be refuted by the sign will be endless, and therefore, the time to refute it will be impossible, and therefore, it will also be impossible to generate special Madhyamaka realization. If the object to be refuted by the sign is not nominally established, then it will also contradict the fact that it cannot be found by searching. Now it is enough to stop the debate of refutation and establishment on those meaningless empty words, and now the meaning of the text will be explained. Second, there are three: refuting the self by examining it in five ways, refuting the self that cannot be said to be the same or different, and concluding with refutation. First, there are five: refuting the self that is different from the aggregates, refuting the self that is the same in essence as the aggregates, refuting the self that is the dependent and the basis of the aggregates, refuting (282a) the self that possesses the aggregates, summarizing the meaning of the refutation, and how it becomes the antidote to the twenty views of the perishable collection, there are five. First, there are two: stating the previous position, and refuting it. The first is: The enjoyer, permanent, real, non-agent self, is conjectured by the heretics who have qualities and no action. Depending on its slight differences, the tenets of the heretics become different. The self, the object of the view of the perishable collection, is universally imputed by the Samkhyas: The fundamental nature is not transformation, The seven, such as the great one, are the transformation of nature.
