That was not done by me. It was not done by others. It was not done by both. It was not done by Ishvara. It was not transformed by time. It did not arise from subtle particles. It did not arise from nature (265b). It did not arise from essence. It was not born from no cause. And so on, it was said. Second, it is the antidote to all wrong views, and its two reasons. The first is: Because things arise dependently, these discriminations cannot be examined. Therefore, by this reasoning of dependent arising, all nets of wrong views are cut off. Thus, merely explaining the dependent arising of these conditions not only dispels discriminations such as arising from no cause, but also, merely by this reasoning of dependent arising of these conditions, it cuts off all nets of wrong views of clinging to extremes. Because things arise depending on this, and this appears depending on this, without examination, the appearance and experience of arising and ceasing, cause and effect, as is known, can be established. Apart from that, discriminations of dualistic grasping such as permanence, annihilation, existence, non-existence, etc., cannot be examined in either ultimate truth or conventional truth. Therefore, although things are contradictory, they are not admitted by their own nature, because the dependent arising of these conditions alone is established. The "Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning" says: That which arises dependent on that and that, that is not born in its own nature. That which is not born in its own nature, how can it be said to be born? And the scripture says: Whatever is dependent arising, that is said to be emptiness. That is designation by cause, that is the Middle Way. And the sutra says: Whatever arises from conditions is unborn, it has no nature of arising. Whatever depends on conditions, that is said to be empty. Whoever knows emptiness, that is the cautious one. Thus it was said. Therefore, merely speaking of no self-nature will not cause wrong views to arise in its continuum (266a). Thus, all knowable things of conventional arising and ceasing that dependently arise are known in the world without dispute, and without examination, the mere appearance of pleasantness alone, understanding these two truths without error, those with transcendent wisdom, not limited by vastness, have two truths by the power of examination and non-examination.

For the sake of liberating the world, this is well explained in the definitive meaning Madhyamaka scriptures. Apart from that, those who hold onto things as real have not established it in this way. Therefore, dependent arising is the antidote to all wrong views, the supreme reasoning that establishes emptiness free from elaboration, the very reality that is the subject matter of all scriptures, the Madhyamaka path of the union of the two truths, and the very ground and path traversed by all noble beings. The Omniscient One also said that whoever sees dependent arising sees the Dharma, and so forth, seeing the Three Jewels and the Four Truths, and so on. The teacher also praised the Bhagavan in all the Madhyamaka collections of sayings, collections of reasoning, and collections of praises, through the mere declaration of dependent arising, and it is through the Dharma of dependent arising that the expressed scriptures and the knowable objects to be expressed are determined. The second is: Conceptions change if there are things; How things are non-existent has been fully investigated. Without things, these do not arise, for example; Just as there is no fire without fuel. Conceptions such as self and other, permanence and annihilation, etc., change into arising if there are things in all phenomena (266b) That is, by the reasoning of what has been said, it has been fully investigated how things are without inherent nature, and those who see in the way that the noble ones have not seen, seeing that there is not even a tiny bit of thing, do not have these conceptions of things such as form, for example, just as there is no fire without fuel. The third is: Two things are shown: the fruit of discernment and that the act of discernment arises from the cause of compassion. The first is: Ordinary beings are bound by conceptions; Non-conceptual yogis will be liberated; Whatever conceptions have become reversed; The wise say is the fruit of discernment. Therefore, ordinary beings who have not understood emptiness are bound by their own conceptions, and the noble yogis who do not conceive of any elaboration, who have realized that, will be liberated, so whatever conceptions of clinging to extremes have completely reversed, that is what the teacher's treatise
